I have been aware of Lido Bakery since before it even opened. As a pedestrian passing by, I was intrigued when I saw that a new bakery was opening up. I went inside and encountered Evie Valensuela who actually came from a bakery in West Los Angeles that my late wife, Marsha, and I had frequented for special occasions. We were unaware that it was Evie who was making those special cakes and other pastries all along.
When it became apparent that the Valenzuela family we're responsible for the running of this bakery for a number of years until it happened that they were able to acquire ownership, this wonderful and remarkable turn of events is a happening along the course of what are now decades of serving the community of greater Los Angeles.
Word of mouth alone gets around in making referrals to Lido Bakery. Their reputation for superior baked goods could not be better. Just sample what you see in the cases and decide whether or not you want to be a returning customer. Be aware that if you want to order a wedding cake, a number of months in advance is necessary in order for you to enjoy their expertise at the wedding.
While Evie Valenzuela is the executive chef, Ernesto Valenzuela is the cake designer. His talent warrants appearances in museums. Bring him any design or picture that you desire for him to create in the form of a cake and you will be extremely pleased if not totally surprised at all of his talents.

Read moreThis was my first visit to Lido and the first thing that got me when I walked in the door was how wonderful it smelled. (Even through my double masks) wow it smells great in here! I said to my husband. We went to pick up a cake for our anniversary (my kitchen torn out so I cant bake at the moment ) and Im pretty picky when it comes to baked goods. (My grandfather was an Italian baker and I bake) So with that delightful aroma we left there with not only our coconut anniversary cake but a cupcake, eclairs, cinnamon rolls, biscotti, linzer tarts, coconut macaroons and a chocolate croissant. We had to be fair and have a little tase of everything. Their butter cream is so smooth and creamy, it's texture is like silk. The best part, it s not overly sweet. It is balanced perfectly . The cupcake was marbled with wonderful flavor and cream filling. It was nice and moist. The chocolate croissant was buttery and flakey. The pâte á choux pastery of the eclair was PERFECT I usually dont like choux pastery because it can have to much of an egg taste but this didnt and it was packed with pastry cream. The coconut cake was heavenly, very moist and a real coconut taste. The linzer tart and biscotti had quality homemade taste..the bottom line. DEFINITELY WORTH EVERY CALORIE CHEAT DAY...
Read moreWe had a great experience choosing a birthday cake at Lido. We were unsure what to order, but they were very kind and patient with us and took the time to explain all the different flavors and sizes. We ended up buy the Almond Roca cake because two employees said it was their favorite. The cake was fantastic and a huge hit at the party. They wrote Happy Birthday on the cake too. While we were there, we bought a few other pastries to try and also a slice of the Almond Roca cake. EVERYTHING was soooo good! Definitely worthy of 5 stars!! Also, there was plenty of parking in front of the store. We found this place by asking locals what their favorite bakery is and Lido was mentioned many times. It is now our family’s...
