I don't consider myself a sandwich connoisseur, not even close. But let me tell you a little tale about a Corned Beef Schwartzie. Now PrimoHoagies is relatively close to my place of employment, but I never had the time to swing by to check on their establishment. It's your standard sandwich shop; sandwich making stations, tables, chairs, a drink cooler...nothing crazy. I eyed up the menu and the word "Schwartzie" caught my eye. Never heard of it before. I thought I was in an episode of Letterkenny. I chuckled to myself and said "alright, let's give it a go". Now it did take longer then usual for my sandwich to be made, then again it didn't take God one day to create Earth, so I can't complain. I received my warm Corned Beef Schwartzie in a standard sandwich basket. Gave it the once over to figure out how to tackle the bad boy without dripping any juices/sauces on myself. Then I took a bite. Sweet Baby Jesus. There are many words to describe the feeling I felt at that first bite, many not appropriate for young eyes, but let's just say it was like an Angel had just slapped me in every taste bud I had. The way the meat melted as soon it touched my lips and the harmony of the sauce and coleslaw. It was perfect. Now if they would only open on Saturday or Sunday so I could bring my family by to taste in the beautiful nectar that is a Corned Beef Schwartzie, I would...
Read moreDecent hoagies but they get the details wrong. All hoagies, by default, include lettuce, tomatoes and onion. That's part of what makes it a hoagie. So if I order an Italian hoagie with extra lettuce and onion that doesn't mean hold the tomatoes so I have to come back on the side. (That happened). If I specify light mayo and light oil, I shouldn't get a hoagie that is literally dripping with oil and slathered with mayo. Someone wasn't listening. Twice we had hoagies made with no cheese. Sometimes ask for extra lettuce and onions and they give us normal lettuce and onions. Sometimes the veggies are not drained and the hoagie is soaking wet. We order way ahead of time so we can pick it up. We get there 1/2 hour later and it wasn't even started. Waited another 45 minutes. We went there recently and instead of calling in the details I stand in front of the kid and explain our order. It was still wrong. We must have purchased 30 sandwiches from this store and at least half they got something wrong. We go there because everything is so fresh and there is almost no place in Lancaster to get decent food. How Lancaster got the reputation of having good food is beyond me. It's a county that serves garbage and this place is...
Read moreFirst off, the flavor of the hoagie wasn't bad. However, I got a tuna salad, and when one orders such a thing, they would expect it to have tuna salad. Nope, this was just dry tuna spread out on a dry bun. I'm sure the experience was unfortunately made worse by the fact that I had to wait 15 minutes just to get a sub of that caliber. I watched while 2 people that ordered after me got their hoagie ahead of me. And then the kicker is, I noticed I was up charged an extra dollar just to have a couple slices of provolone cheese on it...and the menu made no mention of this, nor did the person taking my order. $10.00 for tuna from a can straight onto a bun, and it took 15 minutes for it to be made. And I had to inquire with the register person twice if the hoagie was ready to expedite the process (the place was not busy at all...no one else in there after the 2 folks behind me left with their food), or I probably would have waited longer. Just an overall bad experience, especially when you're in a bit of a rush to get somewhere. At this point, I can say I will likely...
