I just want to share my experience this morning in Panera which stuck with me throughout the day. I called in a catering order to Panera for a big meeting we were having. Now in the past we have ordered several times, each time $300+ dollars spent. The previous times we had Panera deliver and they arrived over an hour late. So today I placed our order for 6:30am pick up. I arrived at 6:35. I was told that the order was not ready. So I explained that I have to be at this meeting by 7, I'm running the meeting so it's urgent. She turns around and walks to the back and says let me get them wrapped up. As she is walking back she in a low voice but still loud enough to hear says to her manager, "If he wanted them on time then he should have tipped". Now when I placed the order no I did not tip when I was asked to. We cannot place tips on company credit cards, I did explain to the person taking the order that I would bring cash for tips on pick up. And that I did. Not from the company but from my own pocket I gave her $50 regardless of what she said. I want Panera to know that I did not have to tip, I did not sit down at a table nor was I served by any individual. So why am I receiving poor service due to the thought of not tipping. You can do better. No one in the fast food industry should expect a tip if I'm not receiving the services that should require tipping....you...
Read moreI've been to many a Panera bread throughout pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware Virginia and other states. This Panera bread is extremely stingy on the quantities of food they gave, coffee, what's inside the sandwich, soup and I was extremely disappointed. On the positive side the food was good and fresh. Their coffee sizes are much smaller than everywhere else I've been and they charge the same pricing so they are making lots of money on coffee. I must confess it's probably the worst front counter I have ever seen at a Panera bread. It's absolutely tiny. And the dessert selection was so bad, I had to settle for a simple cookie rather than some fresh pastry. They just don't have desserts! Lastly the order taker at the front counter was terrible because she simply couldn't get my orders correct. I went over it with her three times for two separate orders. Thank goodness Panera train their order takers to summarize and repeat it at the end before you pay them. I also don't like to have to ask for a receipt which I am entitled to by law. I won't be back to this particular Panera bread. Lastly, I was appalled at the filthiness of the restroom for the men. Absolutely no excuse for it. Perhaps the Pennsylvania health department will...
Read moreStopped at this Panera with my family in the middle of a road trip recently. When we walked in, the counter with the register was open in the front for customers to grab drinks, fruit, etc. I was not expecting this because our Panera at home doesn't have that set up. My normally well behaved toddler saw the fruit cups and HAD to have one. Problem is he is allergic to pineapple. I watched in horror as the tantrums started right in the middle of the lunch rush. My husband tried to order as quickly as possible so we could sit down and try to calm our son. No toy, snack, or screen could save us. I was dreading the thought of making everyone eat in the car on such a hot day when we had already been in the car for hours. Suddenly, a manager approached us and told me he heard me mention my son's allergy and said he'd like to make us a cup with just berries for free! When he brought it out there was instant happiness across the restaurant. Happy toddler equals happy customers all around. I only wish I had gotten the manager's name so I could recognize him properly. We will definitely be stopping again the next time we drive...
