Hippo Bubble Tea — Restaurant in Manheim Township

This place is my favorite bubble tea 🧋 shop! The atmosphere is nice when you first walk in, for its clean, organized, and chill look is calming and peaceful, not to mention their fantastic, little aquariums, which I personally feel add to the pleasant vibe of the place. With regards to the drinks, for that is what they solely offer, they are incredibly delicious. I like sweet things, and their drinks satisfy what I am looking for. However, if you are not a fan of really sweet things, you can ask them to cut out sugar by half or almost entirely besides the sugars already included in the flavoring. Service is polite and they are intentional about ensuring you order what you want, because they do a quick overview of your order before submitting it. I really wanted to like this place, and there's a lot to like - clean, friendly atmosphere with plenty of seating and study/workspace potential and free wifi. They also opened later than the other local bubble tea shop which is why we went. I also don't discount their choice in artwork, but the pictures were definitely AI generated from the weird hands and the cut strawberry with an orange fruit interior. The drinks though, were disappointing. Not bad, but they used fruit syrups and milk powders for flavoring so the drinks had the artificial taste. The good boba drinks use fruit and better quality tea and real plant based or actual milk. We came at the end of the day so the overcooked boba was unfortunate but somewhat understandable if they didn't portion cook proportionally to their customer amount. Overall a "mid" drink but...

I love visiting bubble/boba tea places wherever I go. This one was excellent! I was surprised that for very good boba, the place was very quiet when I went. The service was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised by the beverages

We got an oolong boba tea & a caramel boba tea and both were excellent! And even though I came later in the day the boba tasted excellent, fresh & chewy. Some places definitely let it sit too long! The employee was also super nice & the boba came out fast. Oh, and the tea was pretty cheap compared to what I'm used to ($7+ each in California!) but still had a great amount of boba. Wish I lived closer, i'll definitely stop by whenever...
