Sorely disappointed in tonight's experience. Coming from a place of 20+ years experience, i understanding how the restaurant business should perform and be conducted. With all things that could be weighing on the circumstances( short staff, not probably trained staff, over booking, holiday, etc). The organization and production of the facility as a whole was concerning. Given it be valentines day and our reservations being at 6pm the factor of a high traffic restaurant being greater was put into huge consideration. But that wasn't necessarily the case. There looked to be plenty of staff on duty along with 2 managers as well. We stayed in the lower part of the restaurant seeing it being our first time here and not quite familiar with the place. The server bless her heart, and unfair for her to be put in a situation where the structure and performance of the back of the house and support of the managers set her up for failure. She did keep checking to see if the food had been served to use in between tending to her other tables and nothing of the main course in sight. She did grab my sons food when it was done and we continued to wait for ours. An hour plus we finally had received our food and the server looking embarrassed and being apologetic when she brought it to us finally. Surprised to all of us all three dishes were cold. She came back to check on us and was informed of that everything was cold the look of despair ran thru her face. I did not want a remake as it was offered free of charge and a discounted check. They did remake my guests orders which was the BBQ ribs over mashed potatoes to take home and the hog sandwich free of charge. And we did recieve a discounted bill. But once again the BOH did not perform and we waited again 30 minutes for the refire. At this time the place had cleared out significantly. She showed nothing but remorse and thankfulness for our patience. I nor my guests will be returning to this establishment unless some improvements...
Read moreWe went out to celebrate my birthday with some friends. We were warned by some patrons in the parking lot that there was a half hour wait due to the kitchen being backed up. Okay no biggie. We checked in with the host but he apparently left his big boy voice at home. He was very difficult to hear with his quiet and mumbly voice. We asked if we could go upstairs and he didn’t seem to have any idea if they were even open. So we gave them our name and number and went exploring while we waited for a table. We really liked the vibe of the upstairs so when our name was called we asked to be seated there. Apparently that’s a whole separate restaurant (which is what I asked in the beginning) so we went up there.
The hostess upstairs left her personality and manners at home but we were quickly seated and that’s when the whole night changed.
Our server, Paige, came and greeted us and her smile and friendly demeanor brightened the whole night. Even though our fries were cold and rubbery and my Juicy Lucy was practically mooing, she apologized (not her fault!) and brought me a whole new meal (which was a ham and Turkey melt and it was amazing!) Paige checked back and kept our drinks refilled. She was friendly the whole time and in my opinion went above and beyond.
We’ll be sure to ask to be seated with her when we...
