I normally do not have a complaint but today was so bad I had to speak up. Going through drive thru because the lobby was closed for (another remodel?), we had 2 separate orders. The person had to have my husband repeat his order twice, missing a beverage both times. Then when he placed mine, there was an issue on the cashier's side and my order displayed as coffee (I didn't even order a coffee!), the food wasn't even displayed on the screen. We were told the total would be at the first window. Pulling forward, the girl was barely audible behind the Plexiglas and mask. She had to lean under to be heard (then what is the purpose of the plexiglas?) This is impossible for those who have hearing difficulties and read lips! My husband had NO idea what she was saying. She wasn't sure what the 2nd order was for us. No receipt was given for either order. Second window to get our food, no receipt but all seemed correct. Had to tell the gal of 2nd order--she handed us the items and sent us on the way. I realized we were missing a drink, but no receipt. Couldn't prove 2nd drink was ordered so had to go to Holiday next door for that. As we started our drive home, I bit into the potatoes--completely RAW! and cold. The eggs and sausage in the big breakfast were also already cold. When I called the store manager, he was of ZERO help, kept talking to the workers. Read moreThis McDonald's has the most unbelievably undertrained employees. I was there on a Sunday morning to grab some breakfast for the lake. I ordered two McGriddles, 2 bacon, egg and cheese biscuits, and 2 breakfast burritos. All standard items with no special requests. My receipt said the order was placed at 9:50am, and after sitting at the second window for a while, I was told to pull off to the side to wait. I'd already probably waited 5 minutes, so I was a little irked that my food was not prepared in that time. After sitting to the side for a while, a worker came up to me with an order that was not mine. A few minutes later, another employee came up with an order, and again it was not mine. I showed her my receipt and she was like "what happened to that order?" Finally, at 10:12am, my food arrived. Thankfully it was hot, and it seemed like it had been freshly made, so I'm guessing someone else got my original order.
Now, I'm not blaming the employees. This was the Sunday morning crew, so all the employees I interacted with were high school aged, and the McDonald's job is probably their first job. The responsibility for a failure like this lies squarely with the management at the location who have failed to adequately train their employees. These kids can learn valuable life lessons by being properly trained in their first jobs, and by not doing so, the kids are being shortchanged and so are your customers. Read moreBlack Friday morning is one of the busiest times of the year, yet this location clearly failed to handle the rush. The Manager on Duty (MOD) must be retrained or demoted for neglecting lobby orders and focusing solely on the drive-thru. It raises questions about whether ticket times are only prioritized for drive-thru customers nowadays. Many of us were left waiting for over 30 minutes. We had to take the initiative to ask for our food, all while watching the manager give preference to drive-thru orders. It's unacceptable, especially since they weren’t even short-staffed.
It’s outrageous that customers had to speak up for any action to be taken. While the older crew member woman was friendly and attentive, the blame lies squarely with the MOD and whoever scheduled that manager. I sincerely hope the owner, Colleen, pays attention to these reviews. Our food was not even served hot—it clearly sat there for too long. This experience needs to improve.
