First time writing a review on a restaurant. I have visited this establishment several times and decided to try their Pad Thai during a work lunch yesterday. The Pad Thai was terribly sweet unlike any I’ve tried before. I told my server and he graciously offered to remake it or to prepare something else, and adding that they had a new chef. I opted on a different dish. He took my plate and brought the new dish out, which I enjoyed. When he brought the bill out he was visibly embarrassed and explained that the “owner” had told him to leave both dishes on the check and “see if she will pay for them both”. I was confused because I did not eat the first dish, I couldn’t it was terrible and they took it back to the kitchen. Our waiter was apologetic and when I explained that I didn’t think it was fair to pay for both dishes he went back to the owner and was told to ask me to pay for half. We went back and forth again with the poor server serving as the middle man and ultimately I paid because I had to go back to work. The “owner” stood about 20 feet away from our table never once approaching us, instead he had this very sweet and young server do his dirty work. I will never be back to this shady establishment nor will I be recommending or taking my colleagues like I have for the past...

I love that Mansfield is finally becoming more open to different taste pallets. Ideally, I wanted to give the restaurant 5 stars, but the. I wouldn’t be honest to myself. I want this establishment to be successful as a fellow Lao/Thai individual. I think it could definitely be more successful.

I ordered Lao spicy sausage with sticky rice, Khao Piek Sen, and Thai tea.

The Lao spicy sausage with sticky rice was okay. It was not exactly spicy. The sausage was also very dry and appeared to be over cooked. The sticky rice was also more wet and very soft. Almost mushy.

The Khao Piek Sen tasted so sweet. I think maybe someone may have put too much sugar in the broth when they made it? I had such large chunks of chicken and not enough noodles. I added some ingredients from home to make it taste less sweet. Khao Piek Sen is not supposed to taste sugary.

The Thai tea was great. I thought they would make it too milk or sweet, which most places do, but this was perfection.

Overall, 3 stars for the effort and bring something new to Mansfield. The city is full of such generic chain restaurants, so it was still a breath of fresh air. I hope they make it and will give them another shot after they have worked out their grand opening kinks. I will re-evaluate my review when I...

I placed an online order for pick up with specifications of no onions and no vegetables. I picked my order up drove home and prepared to enjoy it only to find it loaded with onions and a cooked tomato. I called to let them know that the order was incorrect and asked whaty options were as I have a food allergy to onions and can not eat the meal. The young lady on the phone who said she was the manager advised that I have 14 days to return the order in order to get a refund. I explained to them that I live a little distance away from the location and it would not be feasible for me to drive back over there due to a mistake they made. It clearly states even on my ticket... No onions no vegetables. I asked if there was a way I could take a picture and send it to them if proof was what they needed. The young lady put me on hold and said she needed to go ask the "higher up" what can be done. Needless to say they never came back to the phone and I had to drive back up to the restaurant in order to get a refund ofy order that they messed up.

I know my on purchase does not mean much, however, I do feel like their response to the situation was very poor and it's unfortunate because I really do like their food. Guess I can cross this one off the...

Most of my reviews are on eateries that are family-owned. Sweet Rice is a chain. They have restaurants in Allen, Frisco, Carrollton in North Texas. They have two in the state of Washington. Chains focus on a mass market. Family-owned restaurants tend to tune their tastes to their local market. With restaurant chains, you know what to expect. I like to the surprise that family-owned eateries bring. Thai food is one of my favorites. I was born in the largest country in Southeast Asia. I would say Thai food is like Indonesian food. I haven't tried food from Laos. Sweet Rice claims to be a Lao-Thai eatery. Asking the waiter for a good Lao dish was not productive. He wasn’t from that part of the world. For appetizers, we ordered Fresh Vegetable Rolls with peanut sauce. For the main dishes, we ordered a Panang Curry and a Pad Kee Mow noodle. The rolls lived up to its name: fresh and crunchy. The curry was good, but not what I expected. The sauce was thin and brown. I prefer creamier with stronger coconut flavor. The noodle was good with caveats. We expected thicker noodles. And with more vegetables. I’m sure Sweet Rice isn’t as dependent on a variety of chefs. Chains use repeatable processes. It’s reliable Southeast Asian food. I prefer family-owned restaurants.

Food mush is the best way to describe it. I can't remember having a worse dish of pad thai, but it's possible that I have. Over cooked noodles, that had to be helped along with sauce from our crab rangoon and still not worth much after that. The duck fat fried rice surprisingly lacked flavor as well, which was doubly surprising since I ordered it with a 4/5 spice level, and it still managed to be bland even with the duck fat and spice. Crab rangoon was fine Wife called up the next day (food was that bad) and was told we'd be given a credit to try something else. Only to be told no on the credit when I tried to use it. I'd need to drive back out there (30 min away) with the bad food to receive credit. I can't email or text you a picture of my receipt? Who keeps s#itt¥ thai food around for 3-4 days? Still on the hunt for good thai food, any recommendations??

Absolutely incredible experience at Lotus Kitchen in Mansfield! From the moment I walked in, the hospitality stood out. They even offered complementary tea on my first visit, which was such a nice touch. The handmade fresh crab Rangoon were next level, perfectly crisp on the outside and unbelievably creamy inside. Paired with their house sweet and sour sauce (so good I had to take the rest home!), it was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The combination fried rice was just as impressive, with generous portions of meat in every bite and the perfect balance of spice. Not too spicy, but just enough of a kick to make it memorable. Lotus Kitchen has definitely earned a spot on my favorites list. You can taste the freshness and care in every dish, and I can’t wait to come back! Thank you Tom and Staff keep up the amazing work!
