My wife stumbled upon the fact that they are open now today so we decided to stop in. If you aren't familiar with Salata, they are the "Subway" of salads. As a result, you get stuck in a queue with a bunch of people in front of you and it's held up by people being stupid and not being able to choose whether or not they want tomatoes.
This place uses the typical deceptive sizing technique in which the regular size is way too large and the "Small Salad" size is honestly still too large. Go with the Small Salad at $7 rather than the $8 regular salad. Their romaine lettuce isn't from an affected area with the ecoli out break so that is good. They have a wide variety of vegetables and cheeses to add to your salad. They have several salad dressings as well. What you don't realize when you get in line is that all of the proteins are $3 or $4 extra. You're now looking at a $10 salad. Ouch. I went with the Chipotle Chicken which I thought was pretty good. They have other options such as salmon and shrimp as well.
The drinks are a bit different. Their back wall has a selection of teas on tap. My wife really liked hers. They do have four fountain soft drinks on a fancy tap handle including diet coke. They also have bottled soda as well. It looks like they do have some wine available. The one advertised was $7 a glass.
We also had a cup of the Tomato Basil soup. It was just ok. We probably wouldn't do it again.
All in all this is a decent place for lunch but pricey. I wouldn't recommend taking the whole family here for dinner unless your kids just really love salad. If you did, you are easily looking at $40 - $50. The interior is very plain with white walls, they need to add some color or decorations...
Read moreThe customer service here left a lot to be desired. The dropped my mother in laws food on the counter and then tried to put it back in the bowl. They had a new item that costs more that wasn't labeled and we didn't find out it was 4$ until at the register. I would not have bought it for how tiny amount of tofu it was. The amount we got costs them maybe 20 cents and we got charged a full 4$. I even mentioned it wasn't priced and this was our first time here. They argued instead of saying sorry. Like how am I supposed to know something that isn't priced like all the other items wasn't included with the base price?
The ladies also seem annoyed we were even there.
The joint was very clean but I would not come back because of the staff. The woman with long brown hair was the only one polite and I think it's because she's shy.
If y'all charge for an item, inform the customer or label it. I have never been there. I don't know how it works. Also don't charge people for an item if you drop it on the counter and don't replace it with new. That's not hygienic to pick it off a table or counter then put it in someone's bowl. We don't know whose hands or elbows have been on that counter.
The time of this occurance was approximately around 7:35 pm on July 26th.
After digging into the actual salad. It is good except the walnuts tasted slightly off and there were only 5 pieces of the very very thin 1 inch squares of tofu that we paid 4$ for. 😂
Definitely would also change the amount on toppings as the scoops are so small, luckily they don't...
Read moreMy wife and I came at opening. All the staff was sitting around a booth on their phones. We both order large salads the lettuce and all the vegetables looked great and there was an amazing selection of stuff to add to the salad including my favorite dressing chipotle ranch. Now we got to the protein and that’s where it went down hill. The guy serving me( don’t know his name because no one is wearing a name tag) added a very small amount of steak and not even a spoon full seafood mix when I asked for a little more steak he took two of the smallest slices of steak and added it. Now we get to the drinks this is where everything goes bad. Non of the teas or lemonades were ready to go so I had to wait. While waiting my wife points out that the drink containers aren’t clean and there’s still tea from the night before along with white crusty crap in the corners of the clear container. I decide I don’t want a drink and my wife goes back up to get my drink refunded and the girl at the register tells her no the drink containers are clean that’s just foam left in them. You could clearly see the brown liquid of tea left in them from the day before and another employee even said you need to put hot water in them and wipe them out. They did it for the sweat tea…..but non of the others. So I give 2 stars because the employees left crap all over their table for us to look at and because of old liquid and what looks like mold in the drink containers and that’s how people...
