I took clients here to eat dinner and drinks a couple of nights ago (Wednesday). I love the look and feel of this Granite City, as apposed to the GC in Eagan. The Maple Grove GC has a completely different layout, with lots of intimate nooks and booths, that make the feel of the place so much better than the Eagan GC. Our waitress was a seasoned veteran, and she was wonderful! Very efficient, very attentive (but not overly so), and served us perfectly. Beers and drinks were just fine, and nicely priced. That being said, I'm giving this particular review a 4-star because I had the GC special of the night - the all-you-can-eat pasta special (see my photos for nightly specials). Well, my chicken and asparagus linguine pasta was too oily; and mostly cold when it arrived! I mean, it was swimming in olive oil, or vegetable oil. I had to literally let it drain off the pasta before I ate it. And it was mostly cold too. I did eat it all, then tried the cajun pasta that was "better". There wasn't more than 2 pieces of sausage in it, though, but it was hot and not dripping in oil. The all you can eat deal comes with a simple salad (mostly iceberg lettuce) and a piece of french bread (I didn't eat that). They also offer a happy hour each night (3 - 6 pm), offering discounts on select apps and drinks. See my photos. Otherwise, the waitress was awesome, and I do love the interior of this GC, hence the 4-star. Reservations are suggested, and there is a large parking lot. Masks are requested, per the instructions on the door. There's a wonderful outdoor patio (obviously didn't sit outside in Jan in MN!).

August 6, 2020 Benjamin A+ server/Bartender. AsIan Shrimp Appetizer, Delicious! Friday Fish Fry, Excellent! June 28, 2019 Jennifer, spot on server. Generous portions of Shrimp in the pasta, excellent! Wedge salad, excellent! Crispy Brussel Sprouts, good. January 23, 2019 Our beautiful, friendly, attentive and excellent server, Lauren, made a very enjoyable atmosphere to have our lunch. 4 star rating. One hiccup; I ordered beef ribs off the menu. The server came back from the kitchen and informed us, Granite City ran out and the beef ribs were being taken off the menu. June 25, 2018 We sat in the bar area center booth. Good thing there was only 2 of us sitting. If you like sitting in a hole or up on lump, this is the booth to ask for. Great service from the bar tender. The chicken & shrimp linguine were excellent. June 25. 2017 I've been a Granite City Mug Club member since 2009. We stop in to have lunch around 1:00PM on a Wednesday. Not Busy. We sat at booth in the bar area. Comfortable but one side at the booth, (94/1), had more room leg room to sit. The only nitro-pours Granite City has is the Stout beer. I ordered the Broad Axe Stout, (dark stout with a hint of chocolate and coffee). For a nitro beer the taste was not strong but it still had a smooth taste. We ordered off the lunch combo menu , ( BBQ Chicken Flatbread/Caesar Salad and Chicken Mac & Cheese/Asian chicken salad). The meals came out hot and the salads were fresh. For our taste we would ordered less red onion on the Flatbread and Asian Salad. Our server, Jenson, was very attentive.

The food was really great, but I was disappointed with the avocado toast. I visited this restaurant with my family to get a delicious breakfast. Immediately I was greeted with a clean, organized, and beautiful scenery. The restaurant had pleasant music playing, but no live entertainment. There were many places to sit such as inside, outside, sun room, or at the bar, but we were estimated a 20 minute wait. It seemed as if they were short staffed so the wait made sense. We waited around 7 minutes until we were seated. They have a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from since it doubles as a brewery for the adults, but I chose the banana pancakes, avocado toast, and raspberry lemonade. The banana pancakes were extremely high quality and lived up to my expectations, but the avocado toast was very bland. For $12 I feel it should have been seasoned and more flavorful. Although I was underwhelmed by the avocado toast the banana pancakes did not disappoint. They were very fluffy with a thin crispy outside layer, and the bananas were fresh. The sweet, tasty lemonade provided a refreshing taste. Overall the restaurant had fair service, and the booth we sat at was freshly sanitized. There are no complaints in regards to the upkeep of the restaurant, for the bathrooms were clean as well. If you or someone you know is thinking about trying this restaurant I would definitely recommend it, but if you want to eat breakfast I would suggest not getting the avocado toast as it is very flavorless and you could make it easily in the comfort of your own home.

I would love to give less than 1 star but couldn't. My family used to frequent this restaurant at this location but moved from the area making it not as easy to pop into. Tonight I thought I'd treat my son and husband on Father's day and we were in the area so we headed in at 6pm.

When we entered, they appeared busy, even though the parking lot was not packed. They said it would be an hour wait and my husband said let's go elsewhere but then we were told we could seat ourselves at a hightop table near the bar right then, so we did. I went to wash up after getting my hands sticky pulling the chair out and noticed their main dining area had more than half the tables open with people waiting to be seated. We had a table and sat waiting for our order to be taken.

It took about 15-20 minutes to get our order taken, just 2 entréys, no appetizers. It took an exceedingly long time to have our food brought to us; 2 identical meals: Bedda Cheddar burgers, medium well with waffle fries and seasoned dipping sauce. No alcohol, 1 lemonade and one Arnold Palmer. The food arrived at 7pm, and my husband and I looked at each other after biting into our fries...they were hard, barely warm and dried out. The bartender stopped to ask how our food was tasting and I was honest and told him our fries tasted like they sat under the warmer for a really long time. We were told he would get us some fresh ones made and ask the manager to check in with us.

The manager stopped by and tried to make things right...offered us a dessert and to take some $s off the bill. At 7:10 they brought out our fries (they were much like the first batch) and the bartender said he was going to check on our cookies, the Mgr had told us it would take 6 minutes to cook them. At 7:35 we still hadn't gotten our bill or the cookies. We had to ask for our bill which was still high considering the service and quality of the food. (I had also shared twice that the brioche buns on our burgers were hard as a rock...I even broke off a piece to give the manager!) As I was paying, muttering under my breath, they brought a box with our cookies and toppings, we grabbed it and left swiftly...not looking back!

When getting to the vehicle I opened the box to see our featherweight cookies...only to be disappointed again. They looked totally unappetizing.

We WILL NOT waste our time and money...

My wife and I went to Granite City Maple Grove, where we've been many times, to enjoy a nice dinner before a movie at the Plymouth Mann. We were on a bit of a schedule. I'm not the type to write negative reviews since in every business there are mistakes made etc. usually beyond someone's control. Usually someone tries to make it right. That being said, I was astonished at my experience and I feel compelled to share. Mid-day Friday Nov. 9th we made a reservation on open table for 5:45 pm. Upon entering Granite City exactly on time we were told they "did not have the reservation" and the wait was 20-30 minutes. Slightly annoyed at the fact they haven't quite figured out their technology I showed both hostesses my confirmation email from open table for the 5:45 reservation. They did absolutely nothing and they did not apologize. Blank stares. They clearly saw, but failed to acknowledge, the fact that there was a mistake here. We were given a buzzer and told to wait the 20-30 minutes. So, sitting by the outside door where it is freezing we proceeded to wait while we watched the many walk-ins seated before us. I fully expected that upon showing the reservation to the hostess they'd at least attempt to accommodate us somehow, apologize, or get us into a table. My advice: if you want to make a reservation do not go through open table because there's a chance the venue "won't have it". I would recommend making it directly with Granite City. The food was fine, the server was kind and gracious, but we had to eat quickly in order to make our date work. It didn't ruin the whole outing but I was pretty surprised and a little angry that they made my wife and I wait behind all the other walk-ins due to their mistake. I think the reason it really miffed me was because I was able to show proof of the reservation and they couldn't have cared less. That was my experience I hope you have a better one! Remember, make your reservation directly with...

We went to the Mother's Day brunch. We have been here for brunch several times before however the experience this time wasn't as nice.

It started nicely. Every mom was given a long stem flower which was a nice touch.

It was obvious they were trying to maximize the number of guests they could serve. When I made the reservation, when they called to confirm the reservation, and when they seated us at our table they told us we were allowed 1 hour 15 minutes from the time we were seated to be there. The amount of time wasn't inadequate however it was just repeated so many times that it was very over the top.

I wish they would have put more effort into the quality of the food as they did in getting guests in and out the door.

There was a good variety of food, however, it was very inconsistent. My husband's cinnamon roll was amazing and the one my mother got was dry. The hashbrown potatoes were amazing on the first trip up to the buffet but a second helping later on had potatoes that were still a little crunchy and onions that were half done as well.

They had 1 person running the omelet station AND the meat carving station. He was doing his best and was very efficient. When I was ready for some prime rib there was only a small piece of well-done meat left. I was able to get a medium rare piece later on when someone replenished it.

When the staff was replenishing the dishes on the main buffet table they made my daughter feel as if she was in the way.

There wasn't a dessert station but when the waitress brought the bill she brought 4 tiny little desserts. They were very nice but not the flavors that we would have chosen so the four of us shared two of them.

They would have been better off with fewer hostesses and more cooking/serving staff. Overall they were trying to do too much for the space they had.

We will be starting a new tradition next Mother's day instead of attending...
