Smashburger — Restaurant in Maple Shade Township

Utterly unacceptable service!

I am beyond upset with the level of service I received at this smashburger location. We ordered a scorching hot double mac and cheese, a double mac and cheese burger, a scorching hot crispy chicken sandwich, and the haystack onions.

The cashier entered in the wrong order causing a ton of confusion and frustration. When the food was delivered, we were given the wrong item. I asked to have it corrected and they again brought out the wrong item. When this happened, I showed a picture of exactly what I had ordered and again they managed to bring out an item that did not match the picture. It looked as though they had tried to use the same chicken I had just sent back.

The worst part about this was that the cashier lied about the price difference. She claimed there was no difference in what we were charged when I had asked when in fact what I had ordered cost around 30% less than what I was charged.

I was so frustrated with the service that I asked for a refund to which I was told that a refund to my card would take about 7 business days. I did agree to that but then he said he couldn't actually do a refund to the card and could only do cash which made absolutely no sense. He went on to say that he always says the 7 business day spiel so customers don't ask for refunds back to the card. This is absolutely ridiculous to say just to avoid telling them that you can't do credit refunds. ABSURD!

When I finally received my refund, he not refunded me for the wrong item which was not even on the receipt, he didn't even give the correct amount he had stated. I had to explain to him that I was refunded incorrectly which just blew my mind.

I will not waste any additional money at this establishment which is a shame since the food itself was...

This place is nasty. They are very dirty and rude. The tables staff filled after customers leave and then they don’t wipe any of them down. They talk to you like they don’t like you and make fun of people and when the food is ready they won’t tell you so when you do get it, it’s all cold. Also the burgers were so dry and mostly burnt they should be ashamed to serve them. Then there is the drink area, soda and ice all over and on the floor, straw paper all over and used cups with some drink still left in them just thrown all over the lids and napkins. It was so gross I took pictures. The staff knew about it too they just walked by. One staff member was in the bathroom my whole visit and came out when I was leaving all stumbling like he was getting high or something in the bathroom for that long. Nothing about this place is good. It used to be nice awhile back but it totally went downhill and needs some serious work if it’s going to stay open. We were thinking of what we felt like for lunch as we drove by Smashburger and instantly we knew what we both wanted. We didn’t realize there was a Smashburger on Lenola Road across from the Moorestown Mall. We were pleasantly greeted and welcomed as we entered the restaurant. We both ordered the Double Cheeseburger Smashburger which comes with pickles, onions, mustard and ketchup (I did not have ketchup on my sandwich but my lunch date did), we shared a small order of fries, and we each had a small soda (20 ounces). The burgers were hot and flavorful - we both enjoyed them immensely. The cheese was melted nicely and the pickles and onions were fresh and crunchy. The French Fries were hot and crispy and enough for the both of us to enjoy. The sodas were from a soda fountain in the dining room and you could fill your cups yourself and get refills. The restaurant was clean as were their bathrooms. All the employees were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Our lunch was delicious.
