La Michoacana Regia — Restaurant in Maplewood

Wow! What an incredible shop! I wish we found this is summer. But if any shop is gonna lure me for ice cream when it's cold outside, this is it! They have about 20 unique flavors of scoop ice cream. You can sample up to 2 for free. Honestly, ovet HALF of the flavors I had never tasted, which was really exciting! Tequila, Guayaba, Tamarindo, Cantelope, Guanabana, Queso, Pine Nut, Nanche, Mamey, Pinguinos, Angel Kiss, Unicorn, Gansito, and Egg Nog, were just some of the unique flavors! You can get it in a cone, waffle cup, cup, or giant milkshake. The quantity is very large and easy to share with a date or kiddos. I got a choco banana with coconut and a side scoop of café / coffee ice cream that was delicious. My hubby got a hazelnut + pecan + hot fudge milkshake. Yowsaa! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Seating was comfortable with cushioned seats and a small kids' play area. They are located in the small strip mall just east of Maplewood Mall. Very awful customer service. My brother bought what we wanted and on his way out of the place the cup holder gave up and things fell. He went back in there to purchase a Jamaica and Fresas con Crema again, when he commented what had happened the employee told him in a snarky way that she could not help him and the manager was not there to help. My brother did not go in there with the intention of getting things for free. When he finally repurchased what he wanted again he asked her not to put things in a cupholder and she made a very unnecessary and rude comment about it. At the time of trying the Jamaica drink, it tasted on the edge of being bad (we know how Mexican snacks and drinks should taste), the cookies on the Fresas con crema were stale. I was about to go in to confront this lady about it, but different customers showed up and did not want to be rude and make things awkward, so we left and thought about leaving an honest review on here. I won’t lie the shake I bought from there was good. However, you will get horrible customer service. My journey here recently for the first time was treated with disrespect.

A younger Latina women gave me an attitude and rolled her eyes at me when I asked her what my two options were when selecting toppings for my shake. (I could not understand the first women talking as to why it lead me to asking the 2nd younger women who gave me a big attitude)

I would have never done that to someone when working customer service.

She was lucky she didn’t do that to the wrong person as I believe her energy that day would have cost her a lot of trouble.

I will never go to this place again and recommend the people of the community take their business elsewhere and treated...
