I recently had the pleasure of visiting the new Maplewood location of Sweet Percent, a charming Chinese bakery and boba tea shop. Known for its delectable treats and wide array of refreshing beverages, Sweet Percent has become a go-to spot for dessert lovers and boba enthusiasts alike. During my visit, I had the opportunity to try their newest creation, the Watermelon Cheezo, which left me pleasantly surprised.
Walking into the store, I was immediately greeted by a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The bakery section displayed an enticing selection of freshly baked goods, ranging from savory rolls to fluffy buns. The aroma of the pastries wafted through the air, making it difficult to resist trying one of everything. However, it was the promise of the Watermelon Cheezo that had me particularly intrigued.
Upon ordering the Watermelon Cheezo, I was presented with a vibrant and visually appealing beverage. Served in a clear plastic cup with layers of watermelon juice and creamy cheese foam, the drink was an instant eye-catcher. The contrasting colors and textures made it truly stand out among the other menu options.
As I took my first sip, I was greeted with a burst of refreshing watermelon flavor. The sweetness was perfectly balanced, not overpowering, and captured the essence of ripe summer fruit. The drink was wonderfully light and had a satisfying natural sweetness without being overly sugary.
The real surprise came with the creamy cheese foam on top. It added a unique and savory dimension to the overall taste experience. The foam was velvety smooth and provided a delightful contrast to the fruity base. The combination of the watermelon and cheese foam might seem unconventional, but it worked surprisingly well, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that I thoroughly enjoyed.
One aspect that impressed me about Sweet Percent was their commitment to quality. The Watermelon Cheezo was made with fresh ingredients, and you could taste the difference. It was evident that the staff took pride in their creations and paid attention to detail.
Aside from the new drink, Sweet Percent's menu boasted an extensive selection of boba teas, milk teas, and fruit teas. Whether you're a fan of classics like Thai milk tea or adventurous enough to try unique flavors, the variety at Sweet Percent is sure to cater to all tastes.
Overall, Sweet Percent Maplewood is a hidden gem for those seeking delectable Chinese pastries and innovative boba tea creations. With their newest addition, the Watermelon Cheezo, Sweet Percent continues to push the boundaries of flavor combinations, resulting in a truly memorable and refreshing drink. Whether you're a local or just passing through, be sure to stop by and indulge in a delightful experience at...
Read moreI stopped by on opening day and ordered a 700ml bubble milk tea, 30% sweet with pearls, and a 700ml fruit boom, 30% sweet with crystal boba. The milk tea will be my go to, I prefer my drinks less sweet and 30% was perfect for a more tea-forward flavor. The milk is very creamy and it is more unique than some of the other milk teas I've had that just taste like non-dairy creamer, you can really taste the tea. The boba pearls were cooked perfectly, quite large and still chewy and bouncy and lightly sweetened. If you want a sweeter drink I would try the brown sugar milk tea but I loved the regular bubble milk tea. The fruit boom is a much sweeter drink, I'm not sure if there's tea in it but it tasted mostly like fruit juice. Very delicious and refreshing, and filled with so much fruit. Pineapple, mango, passionfruit, and strawberries and you'll get lots of fresh fruit in every sip. I'm looking forward to trying more drinks, especially the cheese foam. Workers were very nice, don't be afraid to ask if you're not sure what something is. I didn't see crystal boba listed on the menu but they have it. Prices are very reasonable and even though we have quite a few new boba shops in the area, I like having variety since everyone offers something different. Also glad they are open until 8 so I can go after work. I'm excited to try more of the sweets, I got a taro salted yolk bun to try and it was so good! The bread is soft and light and fluffy like Hawaiian bread, but not as sweet. The filling is very sweet and the ratio of sweet filling to bread is perfect. The taro filling actually tastes like taro and not just sugar and vanilla, and the bun is plenty big to share. I will definitely...
Read moreMy sister went to the store today and ordered for me and forgot to ask for boba when she first ordered, so she went back up and asked if she could add it before the drink was made. The lady who owns the place told her no, so I asked her to see if it was possible for a refund on the drink (there are no signs for no refunds). I wanted the refund because I didn’t want her to pay for something I don’t want to drink. The owner then started yelling at my sisters (who are both minors 17 & 10) that they can’t refund the drink. It would’ve been fine if she couldn’t get a refund, it’s just the fact that she yelled at children that I can’t get over (which is disgusting behavior). The owner then starts to threaten her by saying she knows our mom and her order (we go there pretty often). It then gets to the point where another customer steps in to please the lady so she would stop yelling at my sisters. It’s just disappointing to know that’s how she treat customers when they aren’t satisfied with their order. Wish I could give them negative stars for their service. If you can’t accept the fact that not everyone can be satisfied with your business, maybe you...
