The Dog House Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Maplewood

I just have to share my experience at The Doghouse Bar & Grill! I visited back in November to watch The HYPE, and wow, what an amazing venue. It was hands down one of the best spots I’ve been to, and I can’t thank the staff enough for making it such a memorable time. I was in town celebrating my last week up north before heading off to the National American Miss nationals, and let me tell you, being there was a huge stress reliever during a time that’s normally pretty hectic for me. Nationals can be a lot to manage, and being at The Doghouse helped take my mind off the nerves and truly enjoy the moment.

From the moment I walked in, the staff and everyone around made me feel so welcomed. There’s something about a place that has a warm, friendly atmosphere, and The Doghouse absolutely has that. It’s not just about the great food, drinks, and entertainment—it’s about the people too. They were all incredibly kind and made my experience that much better. It’s definitely a spot that holds a special place in my heart now!

As Miss Wisconsin Covergirl, I’m thrilled to be back in April. I’m counting down the days, and the timing is perfect because, as many of you know, National American Miss State pageant is in June, so this will be the perfect way to relax and recharge before the next big step in my journey. Male bartender on Saturday 7/8/17. Rude unprofessional. Some drunk guy apparently lost, misplaced, or forgot how much money he had. Bartender accused me of taking some change off the bar. I said no. I didn't take it. Look at your cameras I said. He again accused me of taking it and I again said I didn't take it. Did anyone or you see me take it i replied . I again said look at your camera. I asked was the change from a 20 or 10??? No reply from him as he didn't know. So I gave him a 20 and told him to F off a few times and left. Will never go back. I have managed restaurants in my life. Why they didn't question the guy more who claimed he's not sure how much it was, just some change after buying a drink and then was out dancing And just offer him a drink instead of accusing some one with no proof or evidence is so unprofessional and rude. Sure wish I could take back the $80 and $20 in tips we already spent in the 1.5 hour visit. Never go back again. Don't care how good the band is. The female bartender that evening was very friendly and speedy be with drinks. On 2/22/19 Bad Girlfriends played. Two band members live right next store to me. We would have went to see them and probably spent a couple hundred as we had friends over, but I won't step one foot in the doghouse. Never even received an apology from owner on my July 17 Post. First time customer here and seems like a very nice setup with plenty of TVs, dart boards, pool tables and even a trivia event. Seemed fairly busy for a Tuesday night which guessing by staff reactions was because of the concert at the Myth nearby (which us exactly why were there). There was one bartender and only one waiter which seemed really understaffed. We waited about an hour after seating ourselves to even place our food orders because you had just one guy responsible for serving everyone not at the bar. That was incredibly annoying, especially since we were on a time limit with the concert to go to. The waiter was sweating bullets and offered great service, so a lot respect is due to him. Food was enticingly delicious; I went with the Minnesota classic pickle roll ups for an appetizer and a Cubano sandwich fory entree. Prices are very reasonable for the portions served and the quality of the food. I'd come back again, although if I had a similar experience with slow service again it'd likely be my last visit.
