Don't work for them. I started working for them as a second job while I was 7 months pregnant cause I wanted to make some extra money and not be bored at home since my other job was only weekends. I told them the schedule I could do, but they didn't listen to that right away. I missed my first 2 shifts because of health complications. When I did go in, I gave the manager who does the schedules a new availability with certain dates I needed off, INCLUDING the fact that I couldn't work weekend mornings because that's when I work at the other job.. Come Saturday morning I was at my other job and the manager who does the schedules here goes in to eat there and looks shocked. I tell him, " I told you, I have another job I can't do weekend mornings." He doesn't say anything to me. The next day I call in to see when I'm scheduled again and the general manager tells me that I'm no longer on it because I only showed up to one shift, even after I specifically told the guy that I wasn't available all of those days. She tells me to call later and talk to that manager, so I do. The entire evening from 4pm till 11pm, i'm calling and I keep getting told that he's busy or that he's in the bathroom. It was just excuses, so I left my name and number for him to call back... He never called back. So the next day I call again to speak to the general manager and another manager tells me that she wasn't there and that the manager who does the schedules just went on vacation for 10 days. About 2 weeks later, I went back to get my paycheck, since I still need to get paid for actually going in to work once and waiting 3 hours for the orientation because the lady who did it was SUPER late! The manager tells me that my check wasn't there and that she didn't know why, but I had to call back to talk to Mai (the GM) because they didn't know if I would get paid. My point is they are liars who only worry about themselves. The managers seemed to be confused 90% of the time. On the day I did go, i was in line ordering food while on my break and some guy who was training to be a manager just goes in front of me and doesn't say anything, but gives me a stupid look like if he were better. They don't want you working another job if you work for them. Never coming to eat here and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone to try to apply for them because they take days, up to weeks to get back to you. Nuff said I don't like it and the managers have relationships with the employees while...
Read moreThis was my first time eating and one of the new revamped McDonalds. There's a kiosk when you first walk in to let you order through a computer, and you can bypass completely and just pick up your food or whatever. I skipped that and just walked up to order my nuggies while my friend used the kiosk, I ended up finishing my order about two or three times faster than she did even after upsizing my fries. I was given a little white tent with a number on it and plunked it on one of the tables. I wish I could say that the tables were clean but they weren't really.
It was an odd juxtaposition, eating McDonald's in a dining area with a pseudo Starbucks interior with drop-down pendant lights and sophisticated decor but sticky tables and those still very hard uncomfortable benches. A nice worker dropped off my food and it was perfect. Hard to mess up a #6 but you'd be surprised.
My friends on the other hand was given 9 nuggets instead of the usual 10, and her caramel sundae was woefully small and filled less than halfway. She just pauses in that Minnesotan conflict avoidant way, reasoned she shouldn't eat a full serving of that stuff anyway and accepted the gaffes. I have no doubt they would have fixed these problems if we pointed it out but the fact that they happened anyway was kind of a bummer.
Overall I'm grateful for McDonald's for being the quick dirty pleasure that it is, but these new changes are a little off putting. The one change I did like was that all the dropping cops are by the ordering kiosks and you just grab whatever. It's based on the honor system but given how cheap a bag of soda syrup is, it ends up saving money to let people manage...
Read moreI just went to this McDonald’s on Southlawn in Maplewood. I ordered a soda and cappuccino. So they gave me the cappuccino in a large cup which I ordered a large. It was probably only maybe a little more than half full. It wasn’t filled all the way to the top. Most of it was foam. So you see in the picture where the White tag is. It’s probably the. Coffee is right where the Café letter is. That’s where it stops. And then the rest of it was foam. So I went back in to tell them that can I get a little bit more because you pay almost 4 dollars for this and they put it in a large cup, and the person had an attitude and waslike. It only has so many ounces that we put in there and then then that’s it and then but why do you put it in a large cup, and charge me a large cup price, but then you only give it to me where it says Café and that’s how much cappuccino I get. That’s not right that’s not right at all. I could go to Caribou and they fill my cup up to the rim and they give me whip on top of that. But I don’t want all my top of my cappuccino latte or whatever. I get there to be a little foam on top. I believe they charge too much. I think the person was wrong. And I like McDonald’s coffee. I like the regular coffee. I like the latte. I like the cappuccino but they just don’t put enough in there. They don’t put in what it’s what they’re supposed to and what you pay for. I paid for 4 dollars for some cappuccino, but I only got...
