ViVi Bubble Tea — Restaurant in Maplewood

I always went to the vivi’s in St. Cloud and never had a problem up there. I always enjoyed my drinks and the employees were always nice. I started coming to this location as I’m moved back to the cities, but I had the worse experience ever today. I came a handful of times before to this location, and everyone was always nice, again, until today. I went on Friday January 22nd around 6:30, and was assisted by a female who wore glasses. She had a really negative demeanor and it all showed through her actions. She asked me a question about my drink, but I didn’t hear and asked what she had said. Im super SHOCKED and very disappointed with how she communicated and dealt with this super simple situation, because instead of just simply repeating what she said, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath as if she was annoyed that I didn’t hear her the first time, and then repeated herself. It was such an awkward situation as she literally waited almost 10-15 seconds before answering. At this point, I only ordered 2/3 drinks, as it was my mom, dad and I there. I turned to my dad and confirmed his drink before ordering his, and while doing so, she spoke loudly this time (almost yelling) and asked if that was it, when I was turned away and still obviously asking my dad about his order. I gave her the benefit of the doubt as I just assumed she was just having a bad day, but when I asked if she had any napkins, she said they didn’t. Which was fine, but again, she was just super rude and gave such a nasty attitude about it. My parents even noticed the extra unnecessary attitude she was giving. I know of a friend who went there earlier before me, and also had a bad experience with this same employee. I know times are rough right now, but I hope the owner or manager of this place takes my review seriously and does something about this as it can effect the image of the business, and business as a whole. On top of that, our drinks didn’t taste the same as usual which was kind of disappointing. Don’t recommend!!! The pictures they have up for advertising is great! The bubble tea doesn’t look like it!!! The bubble tea is horrible! My first time when they opened; I tried and it tasted bad. I gave them another chance and the experience was shocking. I got 3 drinks; strawberry float which tasted sour, the 2 taro cream brûlée-size L and M, the large didn’t taste like Taro, it was all milk. The medium size taro was made and their machine didn’t seal well so she had the girl who was working with her grab a cup to transfer the drink and in doing so, she plunged her finger into the drink multiple times trying to peel off the seal. I watched as she struggled and finally, I asked her, “May you please make me a new drink because you just plunged your fingers into the drink one too many times?” The girl who originally made my drink who was fixing the sealing machine answers, “yes, she will make you a new one.” Unbelievable!!! Only after I asked did she stop and make me a new one! She seriously was going to serve me the finger drink?! Wow!!! The drink didn’t taste like taro. It was all milk and horrible. If I wanted milk, I would have gone and got me a gallon for cheaper than this size M boba. Unbelievably jaw dropping! Please do yourself a favor and go get your boba...

I don’t usually post reviews for places but if you’re looking for real, authentic Taiwan style milk tea then this is the place to go!!! I don’t normally like a lot of bubble tea places because their drinks are usually too sweet for me, but authentic Taiwan style milk tea is never too sweet and I love it so much. I haven’t been able to find a good place that actually has it since I moved from Asia but I’m so sooo glad I found this cute, tiny place!!!
