Smokehouse 44 — Restaurant in Marble Falls

We have been hearing about this place and how good it is so we decided to stop tonight on our way home. When we got there they were closing up. I knocked on their to see if by chance they had anything left. The answer was no but we talked to them a while and before we knew it they brought us out dinner to go & they wouldn’t let us pay for it. Well if this was their left overs I can’t wait to try their during hours food. The brisket melted in your mouth. The potato salad was yummy and I am very picky about my potato salad. (Pieces could have been cut smaller, but the taste was spot on). Creamed corn was different but also good. I make my own banana pudding so I’m going to be a little hard on them. It’s a food truck and you are sitting outside on picnic tables under a large shade canopy which is a perfect way to enjoy some truly amazing BBQ. This place has ruined all future BBQ as I feel nothing will ever be a good as this place. We tried the 4 meat sampler which was way more food than the two of us could eat. The moist brisket was the best I have ever had. The pork ribs, pork belly and sausage were all fantastic. We tried the jalapeño cream corn, potato salad, and cucumber salad as sides which were great and plentiful. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Stopped to get lunch on the way north and it took a very long time for two chopped brisket sandwiches (unreasonably long, just over 30 minutes of waiting). The brisket looked and smelled good, but turned out to be incredibly unbearably salty. Burned lips and tongue from it, which is unfortunate because it was cooked really well. The bark had nice seasoning in addition to the salt but the salt overwhelmed and burned. Honestly, neither of us could really finish the sandwich due to the salt content and it made us feel not great after eating it.
