I was excited to find this steakhouse because it was one of my late father’s favorite chains. It looked clean, and we were seated immediately. Unfortunately, I received less than professional service from the server. On May 22, 2024, I took my aunt and myself to Logan’s in Marion, IL, to celebrate my father’s heavenly birthday. Every year, I celebrate him with his favorite: a juicy ribeye. The server who came to my table was very opinionated and rude. The food looked and tasted great. However, my steak had too much hard gristle running along one side, and so after two bites that I could not chew or swallow, I requested another one. Our server, Callie, informed me that I should have ordered a sirloin like she does because a ribeye has a lot of marbling, which is how it should be. She rolled her eyes and showed disdain when I explained the difference between marbled fat and hard gristle. Once I saw her rudeness, I was uncomfortable requesting a new steak. I told her to remove my meal from the check and said I would pay for my aunt's meal. She left the table, had the nerve to send a different server to my table with the check (I guess Callie didn't want to deal with me), and had the people in the kitchen pointing and looking at us at our table. I usually do not think negatively of people doing their jobs. However, it was obvious that the workers had been told something terrible about me and our table. Several staff members gathered in the kitchen area and pointed at us to ensure we knew they were on Callie’s side. It wasn't very respectful! I asked to see the manager, whose name is Seth. As the manager, he should have been coming with an apology and a solution, but instead, it felt more like a way to hurry up and get us out of the restaurant. Seth held his head down, nodded a few times as I explained my dissatisfaction, especially given the momentous occasion, and then said, “Yeah, I am sorry….,” but not for anything specific. I left the restaurant having had nothing to eat on my father’s birthday and was extremely upset at the treatment we received. I rarely go out to dinner, but I know I will not be returning to the Logan’s in Marion. I want to note that my aunt and I were the only people of color in the restaurant. Callie was bold and unprofessional with us from the beginning. I always hope that race isn't the cause of ill-treatment, but I do feel a responsibility to say that I think that it was. This was the first year I was sad AND mad on my father’s birthday. The one bright spot was that we had taken photos of our food and happy moods before the nasty behavior from the staff occurred. Most of my reviews are positive, but in this case, I will not be recommending Logan’s in Marion, IL, because of how we were treated. If you go to this steakhouse, do not even...

Read moreThe manager who I'm being told was named Josh was rude, and had no table manners. I ordered a RARE sirloin. My first one came out almost completely well with no pink, let alone red. I sent it back and got a new one. This one was brought out by the manager who told me to cut into it. This one was lighter then the first but only had the very very thin line of pink. I said "That's not rare" and he proceeded to look at me like I was stupid and said "what do you mean it's not rare?" I was like rare. Red. Bleeding even. Cool red center. Not fully cooked. He grabbed the plate from me and within 30 seconds of him being the back all these servers are peeking their head out behind the door. I'm well aware he was in the back talking about me. He came out again and I didn't even get the plate and he said well if this isn't right you're going to have to order a different cut. I was absolutely struck by this. Who says that to someone. At this point I was super irritated. Not that my steak continued to get overcooked but because the person who is supposed to be managing the store was absolutely rude. The steak came out with a pretty good pink center, definitely not rare but better than the first two. I just said it's fine, ill deal with it. He rolled his eyes and continued to stand there. To which I repeated. It's fine ill take it. And he said so do you want something else? And I said no no I don't. At this point I just wanted him to leave me alone. For someone who is supposed to be "managing" The store, he could use some customer service training. I don't usually post reviews. But I'm leaving hungry, and irritated that I was talked to that way. He did take the food off my bill and I did try a couple bites but I just couldn't eat it. The server was good, the host was good, maybe they could teach him? Just...
