Very friendly and helpful staff, awesome pastrys... Stopped in and tried the mini moose trio and a pumpkin cookie. Trio was a very nice sampling of their chocolate mousse , cookies and cream filling, and carmel cheesecake. I assume they use the same filling for their babycakes as well anyway here goes my take on them...
Chocolate Raspberry mini 9/10 Filling was rich and dark, chocolate graham shell was on point. A solid 9/10 I do recommend you eat the raspberry first though as it overpowered the chocolaty graham excellence...
Carmel cheesecake mini 10/10 If you swing by and they have a larger version of this...pick it up, the experience ended too quickly. Graham shell was perfect, cheesecake interior had an almost butterscotchy taste to it and sat between a carmel drizzle top and bottom.... Phenomenal
Cookies n cream cup 9/10 A little messy but super tasty. Filling was nice and light pretty much nailing the flavor of an oreo cookie... Chocolate used for the shell was definitely superior to store bought crud and overall I give it a 9/10
Pumpkin cookie 11/10 Hands down one of the best cookies I've had... Very soft with a light chew to it you could tell it must have been fresh made that day. Pumpkin flavor was very prevalent but it was not overspiced as some pumpkin cookies can be. Seriously though this is one I would write home about.... It may not be for everyone if you're not a big pumpkin fan but if you're like me and dig the fall season do not snooze...
Read moreFirstly, their muffins are beyond compare with the huge, crusty muffin tops! Secondly, unfortunately, all three experiences I have had with their "to go" sandwiches were less than satisfactory. The sandwiches are wrapped in cling wrap, effectively crushing all sides of the sliced bread. I felt like I was back in grade school having my lunch. The sandwiches were smashed and soggy and too expensive for a "school" sandwich. Lastly, I have purchased scones on numerous occasions. Some scones are delicious and moist, e.g. maple pecan, pineapple coconut. Other scones are baked way too long with rock hard, thick crusts and, as a consequence, end up dry as a bone. After breaking through the surface, they crumble in my hands. (The crust of the scones was between one-half to one inch thick.) The "bad scones and sandwiches" experiences were ALWAYS at Coffee For a Cause at UP Health System - Marquette. It is as if the early morning bakers/sandwich makers sell the store "rejects" to them. These inferior products are giving the coffee shop and Babycakes a "DO NOT BUY FROM THEM" name. I am hoping that this review is read by the owners of both businesses in order to assist them in repairing their good...
Read moreI have to share my AMAZING experience with Babycakes catering my wedding reception. In the early planning stages I had told Chanin, the owner, that I wanted navy blue and sunflower theme but didn’t really have any other vision. She took this and ran with it. She did ALL my flowers for the ceremony and the reception, ALL my decorations, ALL of the set up and ALL of the cleanup. It’s an understatement to say she made my day absolutely magical. Without her my day wouldn’t have been half as memorable as it was. Her attention to detail, her style, her little touches, her expertise…all of it came shining through. Everyone absolutely raved about the food and they were all blown away at how great the party tent looked. Chanin poured her heart and soul into this wedding reception and every bit of it showed. I absolutely cannot recommend...
