I had The French Onion Grilled Cheese and it was insanely good! The picture is only of half because I'd already wolfed the other half down. Best grilled cheese of my life!

What I appreciated most was the kindness and good heart of the owner, Ross!

New in town and with our dog, we were turned away from 7 restaurants that were listed as dog friendly. It was hot and we didn't want to leave her in the car.

We ended up finding Sando's and thought maybe we would just take it to go. We were frustrated, hungry, and tired. And so was our dog.

Ross came out a few times to great us as we looked at the menu outside and offered great recommendations. Then he surprised us with a huge bowl of ice water for our old dog. I could have cried! She instantly drank it up and we were so thankful for Ross going out of his way to help us and sweet Rosy.💖

He explained that there were picnic tables across the street we couldn't see, and made our food quickly while we got set up over there. Even let us take the bowl of water for our pup. He packed up some bacon for our dog too! It was so sweet.

We ended up having the best meal so far in Marquette and Ross saved the day with his kindness and empathy. Rosy (the dog) loved her bacon and my grilled cheese was the best of my life.

I will be back! And truly, thank you.

We met Craig upon our return and he was so awesome too! Seems like great people to support and they went above and beyond for us, complete strangers.

Thank you Ross!...

They now have gluten free options!!!! My step mom and I where strolling through lower harbor and there was some kinda car show . An they had tent set up and we ordered food from them. They didn't have a gluten free bread option then so I just got the meat and cheese.. I might have mentioned hey you guys should get a gluten free bread option.. and they did !! So today was my first try with bread and it was amazing I got the French Onion grilled cheese with steak!! The only thing that I would add would be a little garlic aioli to inside the sandwich cuz gluten free bread just tends to be dry but absolutely awesome an they guy who made my sandwich was also awesome he even checked to see if the cookies were gluten free!!! It's a tiny lil closet sandwich shop but definitely amazing and if you haven't tried them...

So delighted by this tiny magical sandwhich closet. Yes, it’s that tiny and that delightful. Marquette was the half way point on a full day drive from Minnesota to Ontario. My family and I stopped at Sando’s for lunch and to take a quick stroll through town. We ordered a vegetarian Cure, meat Cure, and Philly Dilla. Exceptional all around. Incredible flavor, perfect portion size, and freshly made/steaming hot upon pick up. Loved the vibe (way cooler than me, yet incredibly welcoming 😎). I failed to take food pics because we ripped right into everything, but believe me — this is a great spot and worth the stop. Go here. I know I will on my way back through town.

Update: Came back through on our way home. Still phenomenal. Pics of food added...

Sandos Eatery is serving up the best sandwiches in town, for lunch, dinner, picnics, road trips, and the bonus is the late night hours! The owners are super great people, get the cheesesteak, the French onion grilled cheese, the chopped Italian, and the sweet potato burrito with black beans, cheese, sour cream, peppers++. All of the food is local and fresh, I will be eating my way through the whole menu!
