Honest review:
Food... Ok so service and atmosphere seem trivial if the food isn't worthy, right? So here's my experience.
We ordered the chicken sandwich, made it a meal and ordered the Mac n cheese. Also ordered the chowder bread bowl. 35 dollars.
Tbh the chicken salad didn't have much chicken, I understand the need to adhere to weighing food for profit, although customer retention is far more important. The sandwich was the smallest chicken salad sandwich I've ever purchased. As I've mentioned the chicken itself was not present. Sad but true. Didn't have my phone on me or I'd have taken a picture. You can get one yourself and be as shocked as I. The mac n cheese was no big deal. Didn't finish half of it. Figured I'd save the calories and not eat it. The chowder bowl was just as sad. The bowl itself was not dug out enough to put any chowder inside. I would guess and say anywhere from 6 ounces of actual chowder no more than 8. And that's being generous in my guess. Also the bowl itself is tiny and they didn't give the cut out portion with the meal. Why? As everyone would agree the bread itself is a winner, there's no doubt about that.
Suggestion to the owners... Go outside the box and don't focus on profit as of now, focus on customer acquisition and then retention. The only way to keep customers is give folks their money's worth. I sat inside to eat btw and heard orders of 49 dollars on average. Some people are comfortable paying that rate however most people are not wealthy. This is not a spot for someone who wants to spend a little for a lot. IT IS THE OPPOSITE.
Atmosphere is nice and clean (obviously just opened) so that's a no brainer.
Service was great, very friendly and inviting. Owner was sweet as candy and wanted an honest review.
Last thought... With some food adjustments and changes this business may last. If no adjustments occur it will fail. Same as Togo's and Mr pickles-let's keep in mind folks these establishments serve sandwiches. Not full course meals at a sit down restaurant. Pricing is ridiculous. I really wanted this experience to be awesome. It was not...
Read moreWe have ordered lunch from this location several times and were always impressed. However today was different.
When my husband arrived to pick up lunch which I placed on line it was not ready. The young lady working there showed no signs of concern, in fact she helped several walk in customers and my husband had to step forward to inquire about our lunch.
This is the first time we were unhappy with our order. My turkey sandwich was dry. My husband ordered clam chowder and it was cold as though it came straight out of the refrigerator. He had to microwave heat it.
I thought I would call and chat with the manager, seeing every business is entitled to an off day. The young lady who answered would not allow me to speak to the manager and said she did not know when management would be available.
Up until this point, it was my personal pledge not to write a negative review. With this experience and the lack of concern from the store, I felt compelled to do so.
I will definitely read reviews before going back to this location. Totally disappointed that our lunch was...
