Yo Sushi — Restaurant in Martinez

You used to be my favorite sushi place but. I just got some chicken there that made my dog sick. And I have a feeling it's because of those new registers were they expect you to tip the person standing behind the register and doing nothing. I truly think they picked some chicken up from behind the refrigerator. Dog never gets sick I didn't eat any of it he threw up the next store I went to. I'm never going to this place again and I really like this place but they must have new owners recognize anybody and it was dead and is normally busy something has gone way downhill. They first open they had these really cool MTV Korean MTV you know the music playing now they have commercials on the stupid TV what the is the point of that. So sad I really like this place I will never go again. And I will never go to any place that has those registers where you're expected to tip that's taking your cash and put it in the register and that's it.. it's just a shame the some people think they could treat customers I mean that place is good because they had really fresh sushi and mine isn't I'm throwing it all away I spent $27 one person I'm Throwing It All Away. It is Expensive to not be excellent. I have a feeling the new owners have no idea what they're doing they just saw the profit margins would have been great I would imagine. I want to start by saying I am a regular customer. For the past two years. The Lion King roll is my number one choice. However the past couple times it taste as if it’s not even baked. The last time I asked for it to be fully cooked and it was. However, today I placed an order for pick up and when my husband tried his, he was shocked on how cold his “baked roll” was. I tried mine and it was the same, it looks like it wasn’t even baked just torched on the top. I know you probably think it’s silly most sushi is cold, why are we complaining? But when you order a baked roll, you want a baked roll. I’ve spent lots of money at this location. We’re a family of four, so I roughly spend about $40 or more each time. We don’t mind it but we, just like anyone else would like to get what we pay for. Found this restaurant looking for sushi while traveling again for work, this time I find myself in Martinez. Haven't had sushi/sake in a while so here I am. The food was great, portions as you'd expect for rolls. Took the recommendation for the sake, and was a good choice. Also witnessed a phoned in order that called back and explained they'd called the wrong restaurant and canceled their order for food already prepared. So, I made a deal on the salmon roll that was part of the restaurant dealing with not-so-smart-people. The total bill was reasonable, considering the small bottle of sake.
