The management and staff are all very friendly and work well together. The managers are always accessible if there is a problem and are on the floor, visiting tables to check on their experience to make sure it's a good one. The wait and kitchen staff are a great team that work together to take care of the customers. It's a great group of people! Every place will have issues at some point, and if you had a bad experience I would suggest giving it another try. The general rule at this Denny's is good, hot food in a timely manner and service with a sincere smile! Just remember that any restaurant that is filled to the brim is going to have slower service from the kitchen and less personal time with your waiter/waitress.
Sidenote: Don't judge any restaurant during a huge rush, unless it's judging how the staff handle themselves through it... Did they keep their composure? Did they do what they could to keep you happy? Did the manager disappear to go smoke while the employees went crazy? Did they get an attitude and snap at you like a rabid squirrel that's lost its nuts when you asked where your silverware was? Be a human being with some common sense and compassion. Realize that everyone in the restaurant wants the attention of your server. Be patient and understanding, or go to a restaurant that isn't as busy. Or go home and eat. Rant over.
As far as the physical building, it was remodeled in early 2016 to make it more modern and keep up with the new 'look' of Denny's. It's clean and has a nice, 'newer' feel inside. The outside was painted at the same time, and the landscaping is kept up nicely. Be aware that the entrance could be a little tricky to find. If you are coming from the highway, the entrance is past the restaurant and almost seems like it would be for the apartment complex next door. It snakes around for a very short distance and brings you right up to the building, with the majority of parking in the rear. Three handicap spots are up front closest to the door and there are at least two in the rear parking lot, right at the sidewalk to the building. Very accessible! Make sure to stop by when you are in the area and visit this Denny's. It's...
Read moreI, a server and my sister who is also a server, received very poor service at this Denny’s location the other night. There were at least 3-4 servers working at the time and not very many customers in the building (maybe 2-3 tables). Servers were standing around, or walking past us without any acknowledgement. It took probably 5 minutes for someone to even seat us. Once we were seated, the employee said our server would be right with us. So my sister and I bother began to look at the menu. 5 minutes went by, and still nobody came to greet our table for drinks. 10 minutes went by and we started to get really frustrated. Multiple servers would look at our table and continue to walk by and stand by the front host stand/computers. Finally, it’s been 15 minutes, and we are both getting upset. As a server, I know it is your job to greet tables in under 2-3 minutes of them first sitting down. I wouldn’t be as upset if I noticed they were busy with other things. But from what I could see, we were being ignored. So I went to the front where three woman on the job were standing and asked if we have a server. Nobody seemed to care, but the same girl who greeted us after our wait, followed me back to the table. We ordered waters and told her we were also ready to order food but she ran off for the waters I am assuming. After this, we finally decided we would just leave. As we were walking out, I looked back at the server station with computers and the server started laughing at the fact we were leaving. I will never be returning to this location. I also have never received service like this except for down the street at Steak ‘n Shake (which has been shut down for inatiquite service) I am normally not one to write complaints such as these, but I feel like something needs to be done. I know I’m not being unreasonable. I have been working in the food service industry for almost 6 years and currently a cocktail server at Westport social down the road. We would be fired for this kind...
Read moreWe (two people) were seated by the hostess at 945am and had a very nice responsive waitress. After we were seated within an hours time, 3 other tables in the middle section were sat, and were served their food before us. The waitress acknowledged that our food would be coming shortly, and I could tell she went into the kitchen about our order. At 1050am we got up and went to the hostess to explain, that we had not received our food and we were leaving. As we were explaining why we were leaving to the hostess, she did not look us in the eyes, asked us where we were seated. Then she asked us if we wanted our order to go and the total due for the entire bill. We only had our drinks that we were willing to pay for. I was surprised by her response, I started explaining again that we did not get our food, and she asked why I was raising my voice at her? (She was not acknowledging our presence and obviously not listening to us. She did not care nor expressed any empathy at all). The waitress came over and said " Don't worry about paying for your drinks, its ok, as we gave her a tip and walked out!". The purpose of our review and this email to you: the issue we had today with your kitchen staff overlooking our order, and obviously ignoring the waitress' concerns about the timeliness of our meal. Finally, the lack of customer service skills that the hostess had in her...
