I honestly hate to be their first and only bad review, but I have to be honest with myself. I decided to ditch my usual Starbucks run to instead support a local coffee shop and I was actually excited to do so. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the older lady, but it seemed disingenuous like I had interrupted something. The lady was, in great detail, explaining the menu to the 2 people in front of me. She was very chipper with them , and even asked about their day/plans, etc. I canāt help but notice I did not receive the same treatment. Instead she was very short and straightforward with me, didnāt ask me how my day was going, didnāt explain the menu to me (not that I really needed her to considering I had already looked at the menu online), but still. Little did she know, this was my first (and now last) time coming there. It wasnāt until after I told her what Iād like to order that she told me the drinkās ingredients which I was fine with. Prior to that, she did not suggest the ādrink of the dayā or anything of the sort. Iām a super nice person and I didnāt have a complicated order so I was confused as to why she didnāt try to make me feel welcomed. I mean, I know I donāt have the typical ālookā for someone who orders coffee at a Lutheran church, but I thought this was 2025, and not 1955⦠my money should be appreciated just like any other customer regardless of their physical appearance. While I was waiting on my coffee, another guy walks in and she sparks up friendly conversation with him. Again, he was āthe typical lookā of course. Anyway, she seemed more chipper as she told me āhave a good dayā than she did when I walked in to order. It kind of broke my heart that people are still like this. Especially working within a church. A place where everyone should feel welcomed in the house of God. Too bad we are all the same on the inside⦠the coffee wasnāt that great to have to deal with what Iād call, borderline prejudice behavior.
And no need to respond with āoh, weāre sorry, we treat everyone with appreciation and respect regardless of their physical attributes.ā No need because the first...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I walked into this coffee shop, I loved how Natalie asked āIs this your first time!ā Because usually I walk into a place and tell them itās my first time to get their recommendations. Natalie delivered me an awesome coffee and experience. She was kind enough to ask me my name, go over the menu , and provide me recommendations based of my likes and dietary needs. I donāt think Iāve ever experienced lol any coffee shop experience like that in my life. I got the Higher Groundz Mocha frozen and the most delicious red velvet cookie Iāve ever had in my life! If I could give this place 10 stars I would and best part itās right across from my office. Probably just canceled my Starbucks rewards todayš thank you Natalie for making me feel warm and welcome !
