Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Maryland Heights

Food is great, but operating hours are very confusing. Arrived at Dorsett & 270 store on Feb 10, 2022 @ 8:49pm. "OPEN" sign in window. Went inside. Girl cleaning grill said they were closed. I asked what time they close. She said they close at 9pm, but the register shuts down at 8:45pm. Got home and checked the website, it says they close at 10pm. I have never heard of a place that closes at say, 9pm, but they can't sell you anything because the register closes 15 minutes earlier. Maybe she just didn't want to cook anything because they were cleaning the grill? Hopefully the owner will see this and straighten it out.

Really? Glad I enjoyed a meal that I couldn't purchase!? How is that even possible? Seems businesses are now using faulty automated responses. I downgraded the review to 2 stars because of uncaring...

When you think of an amazing sandwich shop full of flavor, fresh cut meat and plenty of options to pick from look no further. The minute you walk through the door you are greeted by staff that are willing to answer any questions you may have about the menu. Whether you prefer a hot or cold sub they will have something to fit your appetite. You can choose between chips or fresh cut fries for a side (but you’d be crazy to pick chips). Then wash it all down with some of the best tasting fresh squeeze lemonade in town. If you need some desert the cookies are incredible. The best part of this location is the owners have clearly poured their heart into this business and are willing to go the extra mile to make this one if the best Penn Stations in town. Online ordering accepts orders for them until 9:35 since they close at 10. Placed an order at 8:58...said it would be ready in 15 mins.. I wasn't far so I arrived at 9:05 and they were closed.. employees were cleaning but didn't answer the door or the phone when I kept calling. I understand not coming to the door for safety reasons but closing 1 hour before the actual website says you close..no sign or anything and refusing to answer the phone when there is MULTIPLE confusedcustomersoutsideis kinda crazy. Once again the website let me order and said they stop taking orders 35 mins from the time I ordered already. And they didn't close per the penn station website for this location until 10pm.. my order was supposed to be ready...
