El Jarocho Tienda and Taqueria — Restaurant in Maryland Heights

Delicioso!!!! This place has such great quality authentic Mexican food! Kids friendly, big selection of bottled drinks, some ice cream, and a small market in back. The menu features TONS of options for taco fillings, especially my favorites LENGUA (not oily) and NOPALES. I told the server I usually go to Durango on Cherokee, and she shared that the cooks at Jarocho are from the same hometown as the guys at Durango. Boyfriend and I were in town and stopped in! A unique style for a Mexican restaurant with AMAZING food!!! We had a variety of street tacos and they were delicious! We were told by another table to order the queso so obviously we did and it arrived hot and stayed liquidated and didn’t clump up after a few minutes 🤌🏼 we also got their red and green sauce - both fantastic but my partner preferred the green (less spicy but still a kick). my partner had the watermelon Fresca and sucked it down! I had a peach margarita and the flavoring was there but I did ask for an extra shot of tequila to balance it a bit more! Overall...

We came in not really knowing what to expect because it was so new but we were looking for something fast for lunch while we’re visiting from out of town.

We were just floored with how clean, friendly, and delicious everything was. I had the huevos con chorizo burrito, my wife had the carne asada fries, and my daughter had the carne asada nacho. All three dishes were “top shelf”. We asked how long they’ve been open and she said they’ve only been open since May 15, 2025 and honestly nobody knows about them yet.
