I wouldn’t recommend coming here/ordering from here if you’re in a time pinch… at least not for a while. We’ve been waiting for 4 subs that we placed in-house 55 minutes; there’s definitely newly-opened growing pains to work through.
There is a tall man on the line with tattoos on both arms who is guiding the younger line cooks with patience, compassion, and calming leadership. It was a pleasure to watch (and learn) from him. I’m writing this review for him- incredible job, sir. I hope you are recognized for your leadership and strong management skills, and I hope you are given the authority you deserve.
The young lady at the front register is best suited for another position. As soon as we walked in the door, she started yelling, and I mean yelling. Through our first hand encounter with her, and from watching her for almost an hour, she is crass, dismissive, and talks down to her fellow employees. Yes, they are busy, and yes there’s a lot going on, but whoa.
After order update: We finally received 3 subs after over an hour and after the establishment had closed. We were missing a sub and one of the subs was the wrong sub. When we went to the young lady at the register to show her our receipt, she grabbed it from our hands, was beyond rude in trying to fix it (I say “trying” purposefully because her attitude and demeanor just made the situation worse), and eventually walked away and screamed “I’m out!” The man mentioned above attempted to advise her on her demeanor and professionalism. She just rolled her eyes and huffed at the advice, giving excuses. It took the staff 15 additional minutes to sort through the errors in our order and another 10 to make the missing sub. By the time we got home (approx. 2 miles from the shop) everything was cold, soggy, and wildly...
Read moreSo…we used to live in Newark, DE in the mid-Nineties and became very acquainted with Capriotti’s. Then we moved back to Bel Air and that was that…until Capriotti’s opened a sandwich shop on Rt.24 just south of the Forest Hill Klein’s. I suggested they add a fryer, as Marylanders expect to order fries, onion rings., etc. when they order cheesesteaks and Italian cold cut subs/hoagies. I was told Capriotti’s did not have fryers, even in Vegas. The store was not open for long. So I was surprised to see Capriotti’s return to Harford County, and even more so that they now have a fryer and serve French fries.
Onto the review. I ordered a cheesesteak with provolone, lettuce, tomato, mayo, fried onions and hot peppers; my wife ordered an Italian with lettuce, tomato, mayo, onions and hot peppers, and we shared a naked fries. The cheesesteak was flavorful but the steak was a little thick and a bit overcooked. The Italian was also flavorful, but the meats were being cut with a knife and some slices were 1/4” thick, which is not appetizing in a cold cut. The hot peppers were also left off (we got some on the side). The rolls were excellent. The fries are thin wedges, almost like a thick-cut potato chip (crispy exterior, fluffy interior). Different, but good.
I think most of this may be growing pains. I’d like to see this store to either get a meat slicer, or have the meats pre-sliced.
We are willing to...
Read moreYesterday I decided to treat my boss and myself to lunch because we work near by and we LOVE capriottis Subs! Usually the cashier is a a young girl who greets us with a smile and is eager to help take our orders, however yesterday we weren't greeted in a friendly way there was male with long hair who was rude, and seemed very annoyed with us simply for walking in. For instance my boss asked what came in the classic Italian sub and he sarcasticly pointed to the menu and said it's right up there! My boss didn't have her glasses on and couldn't see the menu he was short with us and clearly irrated and when we asked if he was having a bad day he even admitted he was angry because he had to work the closing shift and then apologized for taking his attitude out on us and lastly to top if out off when we asked for the receipt to get points for the app he handed it to us and said "congratulations" like we won a prize for asking for our receipt. Really disappointed in the customer service we experienced on Thursday and with working in the service industry myself I'm shocked at the behavior this...
