I came to do a 1-star review, only to find that I previously did one a few years ago! Well, I think I've learned my lesson. Dairy Queen just needs to close.
We wanted ice cream tonight and decided to go to Dairy Queen since we hadn't been there in a while. Pulled up to be told that the ice cream was out, and it would be 15 minute wait. No worries, we decided to wait. Waited the 15 minutes, ordered our stuff, THEN we were told they were out of some of it. Okay. Little annoying, but we'll find something else. Placed our new order. THEN got asked if we're paying with a card, because they're only accepting cash right now.
You couldn't have told us that 20 minutes ago??!!!
I begin to see why we haven't been to DQ in so long. There's a Sweet Frog right across the parking lot and, with DQ's prices lately, it's not that much more expensive. And a LOT more value. I don't see a reason to return to DQ.
Original review I wanted a banana split, but didn't want chocolate sauce or strawberry topping. No worries, I ordered it the way I wanted, with hot fudge, caramel, and pineapple topping. Only after I cashed out, did I find that I was charged for the toppings. I went back to the counter and explained that I didn't want extra toppings, these were replacements. The cashier couldn't help, so she got the manager. The manager chatted with an employee first, taking his personal order, THEN helped me. By explaining that the charge wasn't for extra toppings, but for replacing the original toppings. So, DQ charges customers to get orders the way they want??? Fine, but if that is the case, why did she charge me for pineapple topping, which is an original topping anyway??? Either it's bad policy, or...
Read moreI ordered and paid for my food at 7:28pm at the drive thru. My order came to $61.67 for 4 combos, 3 of them included drinks and I ordered shakes for the drinks (3). This was my first time ordering shakes as drinks. When I asked about the pricing the manager said I was charged full price for the shakes. I said okay can I still get the drinks that come with the combos (3). He refused and said it would be more and he would have to redo the order. I said okay, I will just come in. At this point I had already received all of my order but 2 fries. I added on onion rings while waiting for the manager to adjust the price to reflect the additional charge. When he came over he tried to charge me for $2.99 ice cream cones. I didn’t agree with that telling him to redo the order understanding it was only $1.60 difference. He said, well I can’t help you, you can bring back the food and I will just give you a refund. I said I’m definitely not doing that. He walked away. By the time I left it was after 8pm. When I arrived home to feed my family the food was cold and shakes melted. The worst experience ever because a manager (Maybe Kevin) at DQ on Pulaski hwy refused to just give me 3 cups nor charge me $1.60 for the 3 cups. This was not how I expect to spend my...
Read moreMy last recent visit. They did not flip my blizzard and I was with a table of 4. So I had 3 other witnesses. The lady who brought it I told her she didn't flip it turned around and laughed. I went to the cashier up at the front right before leaving and told her very politely. Since there menu does say if they don't flip it next one is on them. the cashier asks her about it and denies that she didn't flip it, pretty much saying I am a liar. At that point I continued to tell the cashier otherwise. And then she tells me they have no coupons to give for that. Smh. So the menu is lying too apparently. I then come in today for a second visit this month and I have a picture of more then half the employees standing in the back and eating food while we waited about 10 mins for our order. With one employee making all these orders by himself. The management at this store needs to get these employees under some discipline.
