Hello. I was just at your restaurant in LaVale, MD. They have some tables that are NO WHERE near six feet apart. My father and I were seated, and first they tried to seat us directly behind othet paterons, which we declined. We asked for a different table, and our waitress was very willing to fulfill our request. A few minutes later, a party of 3 came in, and was directed to be seated directly behind us. Before they were even seated, I tried getting the attention of the waitress, which I'm told her name is Stacey, and she ignored me. I tried to get her attention for at least 30 seconds. She is a middle aged white woman with dark brown/auburn crinkled hair. He last name was not released, which I understand and respect due to privacy reasons. When she was walking away, I raised my voice to say excuse me to get her attention. She turned towards our table. I then asked her if they can be seated somewhere else, or if we can be moved since they did not have on a mask (and were not eating or drinking yet) and were literally back to back with my father. They were older patron, I'm not sure of their age, but my father is definitely a senior citizen with chronic diseases, and I do as well, a heart condition. Anyway, Stacey snapped at me, and got an attitude, stating that the tables were measured and they were 6 feet apart. I then pointed out to her that the other party was back to back with us, with only about 6 inches of space between them while seated. I advised that one of us needs to be moved. She said some other smart comments, which I can not recall at the moment. Then she yelled that it was fine, and she would just move the table. So she slid the table back about a foot and yelled there. The manager was in the dining room, Linda, I believe to witness what happened. She was talking to other guest, so I'm assuming thats why she didn't hear the beginning of the conversation. I'm not sure. But of course, the manager asked what happened while she was walking by, and had an attitude while telling the situation to her, in front of other guest. The manager then told me that it would be ok, while not even addressing the employee. Of course I was livid, and just cancelled my order. The manager did come and speak with me after she was finished with the other guests she was previously speaking with. She did say that the waitress was in the wrong, she could see that those tables were not the correct distance apart, and that the waitress should have handled it differently. I just think it's ridiculous you allow your employees to speak to customers, in front of other customers, and it's not even addressed. I felt so disrespected. And if I wasn't so angry, I might have even felt embarrassed. Prior to this I was a frequent customer, but no longer. I can't tell you how many nights we spent studying for boards or my nurse practitioner cohort spent there late at night after work or class. And even with the pandemic, I still ordered pick up. But I won't be coming to this establishment again. I will also be discouraging others not to come here and be sharing this incident of blatant disrespect and disregard for your customers safety and well being until this situation...
Read moreGot off the plane a day ago. Great visit with my family. 4 women and a service animal in my group. Everything was great. The food came.
Our server was the only highlight of that establishment.
Guest 1 Bene sauce looked like cooling Velveeta cheese. Tasted okay, so Fine
Guest 2 Fried food, no complaints
Guest 1, 3, 4 'Every' piece of bread on every plate had fuzzies standing on end. Most likely dirty vent blowouts, or AC.
My experience, being a former employee for several Denny's locations: i.e., Renton, WA, West Phoenix, 2 (Camelback), AZ locations, Vancouver, WA, and Orchards, WA. Could've been an easy fix. Most likely dirty vents, understandable. The events following our reaching out for approval are where my complaint resides.
We didn't get to enjoy our meal together. We ingested dirty vent debris on every part of our bread. My cousin noticed hers first. Then, we all inspected. I was 3 bites in before I realized my bread was the same way! My aunt had some as well she was embarrassed to say anything However, the management came over with her protégé. She presented herself as a representative of the establishment with a very authoritative and skeptical demeanor. She visually scanned our table. Speaking with a condescending tone instead of looking us in the eye with a friendly and proper greeting, we were treated like suspects rather than customers/guests. It was very bad "management," to say the least. The food should have been gratefully comped. We would have paid for our drinks and left pleased with the outcome. Coming from the customer service industry, We left extremely irritated by the management's choice to bring a second person to our table, along with the management's disrespectful and demeaning treatment.
The server was the only highlight of our lunch experience on the first day of our girls' getaway. She also appeared embarrassed about the situation, maybe considering her as management would help save that place.
Very disappointing.
I'll be contacting corporate about this franchise.
We paid a $29 bill for food that the health department would've resulted in the shutdown until it was properly cleaned. The $20 tip was how we value the service industry. That server is most likely paying for...
Read moreWorst Denny's ever. The wait staff do not care about customer service and pressure you hard to tip for subpar service and give you looks when you don't. The cooks over cook and burn most foods and undercook everything else. The appetizer we order tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen for days. There was a taste of syrup in our meatballs and garlic toast and the mozzarella sticks were stale and smelled funky. It took them 35 minutes to take our order after we sat down and another 35 to bring out the appetizer. The entrees were no better stone cold and over cooked with burnt toast or bread. All the potatoes were basically mashed potatoes and when made aware of it they scoffed and walked away with no apologies and just replied with "You think it's nasty?" And took it back to the kitchen. When speaking to the manager when paying she could not have shown less emotion or empathy at all. Even stating "I took off for the meatballs" mind you the appetizer was reduced by $1.75 with that. It wasn't a discount I was looking for, I was looking for a confirmation that things would get better a reassuring voice to end this interaction on a better note... What I was left with was a view on Denny's that will stick with me, one that had previously been much better. Do not waste your time at this Denny's, it's not...
