Our order was placed via the app. After finishing at the speaker and only when we got to the window were we told they had no Cajon rice, they no longer carry green beans or onion rings (both of which were still on the drive through menu), and they were out of Dr. Pepper. All of these items were available on the app except onion rings. Further, they had no artificial sweetener for the unsweet iced tea. We got our food and pulled away. It was then that we saw we did not get the beignets we ordered nor any napkins or utensils. We pulled back through the drive-thru and told them about the problems. The man replied, "We don't have beignets. That's why I gave you the apple pies! You can pull around for the utensils" No one bothered to tell us they were out of beignets. No one give us the option of our choice of different dessert or a refund. They just chose to swap the item we wanted with an item we DID NOT WANT and say nothing about it. Despite the complaint and saying we should have been told, there was no offer to fix the problem. No apology.
We pulled over to eat our lunch. A lunch we did not want or ordered. Had we known they would not have most of what we ordered, we would have gone to a different Popeye's. We were only a few minutes from 4 different locations when we ordered via the app. If the app had accurately shown the availability of food, we would never have gone there! As for the food itself:
The mac & cheese (a substituted item) was tepid, at best and was awful. Noodles overcooked to mushy and poor quality canned cheese sauce.
Red beans and rice (a substituted item) was also tepid and awful. The rice was flavorless and the beans were so runny that they could only be eaten with rice mixed in. If you tried to eat the beans alone, they ran off the fork. One of us could not eat the beans at all due to the smell. We tried to feed them to the dog when we got home and she refused.
I had to drink my tea without any sweetener. Not pleasant.
The coleslaw was not cold. It wasn't as warm as tepid but it was not kept as cold as it should have been. And, the taste was "off." It was not pleasant to eat. It just did not taste good. Normally, I would eat a large size myself alone but my companion and I, together, didn't eat as much as a single serving.
Lastly, the chicken sandwiches, which is the reason we went to Popeye's in the first place weren't good. They, too were tepid. And, sadly, the taste was sub-par. Usually, they taste really good, rivaling Chick-fil-A, but these were lacking in flavor. I even took off the bread and tried the chicken alone. It was as if there was no seasoning on it.
We wished we had gone ANYWHERE else to eat. It was a waste of calories from beginning to end and terrible...
Read moreUsed the mobile app to place the order. SPECIFICALLY choose this location because of the sides listed available here, rather than other (closer) stores. Ordered the new dessert.
Received no messages about anything being out.
Got to the store, nope!! The sides that we wanted, and went to THIS store to get, were out. They didn't have Cajun rice, and discontinued green beans. If they're discontinued, why are they still on the mobile app AND the store menu board?
They wouldn't take the sides off of the bill, and made us substitute. Got macaroni and cheese and red beans and rice. The Mac and cheese was half full. Full price paid, half size received. The red beans and rice were inedible. Beans were SO watery, and the smell was disgusting. I dint knew what was in those things, but it smelled like fecal matter. I couldn't eat more than two bites.
The dessert we ordered? They're begneits. Apparently, they don't have those either. But, rather than two us, they charged us and substituted with apple pie.
The chicken sandwiches were old, not fresh. They felt, and tasted, like they'd been sitting in oil, just soaking it up. Even the buns were greasy. Cool, not even warm.
They were even out of Dr. Pepper. And had no sweeteners for the unsweetened tea.
After all of that, we had to go through the drive through a SECOND time, because they couldn't be bothered to give us napkins or forks.
There was, quite literally, not a single item of this order that was acceptable, let alone good. The only people I would send to this place are people I hate. And, even then, I'd have to think about it.
If you want a chicken sandwich, go to Chick-fil-A. It may cost more, but at least you get food, ...

Ok, 2 sauces... open my bag in parking lot, wrong order... go back around to tell them I got the wrong order, the lady said no you told me #whatever, i said I didn’t I got the tenders, as I always do, she told me again I was wrong... if that’s not crazy enough I said no problem, I want the tenders, I need your receipt, I threw it away, she said I can’t help you without your receipt... I was the last person through the line like 10 seconds ago, gets her manager, with a terrible attitude she takes my box, opens it, pulled the chicken out with tongues and placed tenders in there, no new fries or anything... ok thanks, you owe us a few more bucks because the tenders cost more... this is where most people would apologize for they’re mistake and cover it but no problem, here’s my card... also, I was charged for sauce, is that normal, you get free sauce with tenders, you ordered a 2pc meal so you were charged, ok well that was a mistake so can I have my money back for the sauce, we cannot do refunds... so you got my order wrong, blamed me and told me it was my fault, actually argued with me that it was my fault, overcharged me, and on top of it all the tenders were old and tough, that was my last experience at a Popeyes anywhere, there won’t be another. Then today my coworker goes there as is told the promotion on they’re sign, and website is over and can’t honor they’re $5 box... points at the sign, no that’s over we don’t do that anymore. How is this...
