Ok ok ok... Disclaimer- this review is based on MY experience alone, and keep in mind, that it was on opening day. Can't eat this every day now. Yeah, THAT part.
Soooo, after waiting on the queue (line) for 1.5 hours to check the hype, I'd say I was somewhat pleased with the whole demonstration. New staff seemed young, attentive and eager. There are only 2 drive through lanes, but during this grand opening phase, y'all they had like 9 rows of parking spaces (left-right) reserved for the drive thru movements and the lines were formed from one single lane entering from 301. So YES! IT WAS PACKED and jammed from 301, just south of Best Buy, all the way up to the spot. LISTEN (locals only): DO NOT GO ALL THE WAY DOWN TO WHERE the Boston Market was and M♥️MS market is‼️ Turn right at like the 3rd entrance (south bound) past Best buy (chain link fence) into the shopping plaza where the Planet Fitness and Chuck E cheese is. Make the immediate left at the service road that goes towards the restaurant and alongside Bank of A.
Armed Security and staff will direct your parking to the spot. Keep it cute, don't be goofy and get set back. If you try and cut the line with your car, they are on you and YOU are on your way to the back of the line or dismissed... Ijs
Now for the grub‼️ Unless you play on someone's football or rugby team, the Best value is the 4 piece combo box. It comes with four chicken fingers, fries, sm cold slaw, 1 house sauce, a mini slice of Texas toast (buttered on 1 side) and like a medium drink. If you ask for a b.o.b., they butter on both (b.o.b.) sides of the bread. Ok, now THE CHICKEN- was juicy, tender, piping hot and lightly crispy on the batter, not chunky and heavy. NO FANCY SEASONINGS list. Everything is fried, so no grilled options. THE SAUCE- could use some tweaks, but not bad. FRIES- are small crinkle cut and filling. THE SLAW- a lil bland. There are NO DESSERT OPTIONS HERE. THE TEA- is southern sweet and the daily fresh squeezed lemonade was nice. Neither overly crunchy or sweet. There are options for gallon purchases of both. There are regular carbonated sodas also. Small charge to up size any drink with combos. EACH ADDITIONAL SAUCE- you desire is like .30-.40¢ extra. There is plenty of parking and they seem to be ADA compliant throughout the site.
Lastly, THERE IS HONORING OF CONFIRMED AND VALID VETERAN'S DISCOUNT.
Be sure to ask about opening day merch/swag while supplies last LOL
Overall assessment...7.5 out of 10 or 🔥🔥🔥.5 out of 5. Not exactly the chef's kiss but quite tasty. I wouldn't lie and I didn't die.
The reason for MY rating here is because of limited sauce offerings and the one that is here needs some tweak and twang, something to make that chicken more gooder. Hush, I know it's not good grammar, but it's fun lol. The slaw needs a dash of... "something"⁉️No dessert or shake offerings⁉️ No salads⁉️
But hey, give it a try and see what...
Read moreI’ve been both day’s since this location’s grand opening, and I’ll go back again today. It’s a chain that was founded it Baton Rogue, LA, that I’ve experienced several times down south.
They have 4 meal options:
• The Caniac ($16+tax) 6 tenders, fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, 2 canes sauces, Large drink.
• Box Combo ($11+tax) 4 tenders, fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, 1 canes sauce, medium drink.
• 3 finger ($10+tax) 3 tenders, fries, Texas toast, 1 canes sauce, medium drink.
• Sandwich ($10+tax) 3 tenders on a bun with lettuce, fries, medium drink
• They also have a kids meal (~$7 tax) 2 tenders, fries, canes sauce, small drink
•Everything is about $10-$20 per person. Do not buy the largest meal if you don’t want to spend the money on trying food.
•Look at the menu prior to going.
The tenders and fries are not seasoned, they are salted and cooked to order. The canes sauce is seasoned, which is why it comes with the meals. That’s the sauce, just like when you order from WingStop.
Raising Cane’s is one of the fasting growing restaurant chains currently. It’s the grand opening of this location, so yes, they had security. There were hundreds of cars in line at 7pm, I wasn’t there at open either day, but I bet it was crazy busy then too.
All the food is made to order. I’ve ordered on the app every time and the food is ready about 5-10 minutes after my scheduled pick up time, which is expected, since it just opened, and it’s been hot every time I’ve ordered it. The interior is very nice. The Texas toast is also the same way that I used to get it in Denton, Tx, where it was created. It’s Texas Toast, which is thick buttered toast, not Texas Toast brand garlic bread.
If you go on opening day, or opening week, there will be hiccups. It’s a new place with new employees. It’s just as good as every other Cane’s I’ve been to in Texas and Louisiana.
Overall, the staff I’ve interacted with have been very friendly, the food is just as good as it has been at every other location I’ve been to, the sauce is just as good as it has been at every other location I’ve been to, and the atmosphere in Waldorf’s is very nice. You can tell the staff is working, despite some of them being teenagers, and working very hard and still enjoying what...
Read moreI wasted 30 minutes of my life waiting in the drive thru...
I had heard great things about the chicken here and on a trip home from a weekend getaway I noticed a Raising Cane's on in a shopping plaza and since it was 12pm decided I would finally try it. I pulled up to the drive thru and noticed a short line so I hopped in. This was a mistake. The line was painfully slow to move and I was tempted to leave it and continue on my way home but decided to wait it out to see if it was worth it. In total I spent 25-30 minutes waiting to get my chicken with 5 -10 of those minutes sitting at the drive thru window staring at the bag that ended up being my meal. It wasn't just me waiting that long at the window each car in front of me had an extended wait as well.
The food was good though. The chicken was delicious and while pricey I would buy it again. The fries where fine. Nothing special but perfectly edible and almost hot (they probably would have been nice and hot if they didn't sit on the counter for so long). The texas toast was a throw away for me. It was fine but just a waste. I didn't try the coleslaw as I was driving.
All in all if it hadn't taken so long I would probably be singing the praises of the quality of the chicken fingers. Hot (enough again due to sitting), moist, and tasty it is very good. However I can't recommend it because the service was downright terrible. I truly hope this was a one time or at least a one location thing and while I'd be tempted to try another location (thankfully this one wasn't anywhere close to my house) I'd be hesitant because of the terrible experience I had...
