This is our 3rd Las Margaritas that we've been to (it's a regional chain) and is every bit as great as the others. The food is, of course, very good (Americanized Mexican) and the service was actually slightly better than the wonderful service we've experienced for the last 20+ years. The menu is quite varied and even has a selection of vegetarian dishes, including vegetarian fajitas which my wife said were very good. My typical dinner is their meat fajitas (esp. pork) but their combination plates (which come in regular and large) are exceptional and my favorite is #23 because I love their enchiladas and their tamales are traditional, not the fancier Christmas tamales; I highly recommend a tostada on the side and don't forget some avacado on it. They have a bar area off to the side so you can order drinks (margaritas, etc.) but I like beer with my Mexican food and their Modela Negra goes great with fajitas. Prices are fairly average which is great since this is the perfect place for families and even large groups.
On a side note, some people might not notice or even care, but we also really enjoy the chairs at the tables in the middle of the dining area because the are hand-painted, very festive, and really make you feel like you're in some Mexican cantina. (We prefer sitting in booths, though, so we just admire the chairs from afar.) Also, the rest of the decor is quite attractive and this restaurant had a great painting of a village scene over our booth, reminding me of this village in Mexico that I'd...
Read moreIt's a tough one. I went with my family for my youngest son's birthday. My son's friend ordered the same thing that I ordered but he had chicken and I had beef. They mistakenly gave him my order and he just figured it was an mistake on his order but ate it anyway with beef. I waited a little while before we realized the mistake and when I finally brought it up, they apologized but obviously they missed one order because his chicken never showed up. They hurried to fix it and brought me my order with the beef. Unfortunately it definitely was hurried and it ended up being the worst food ever at any Mexican restaurant. I usually order the same at each different restaurant, the bigest burrito and it's always the same and always at least decent. This time on my second bite, I couldn't continue. It was the worst I've ever eaten. I know the cook probably got frustrated as some do when an order gets mixed up and he or she threw it together with no thought about quality at all. I would have given no or possibly 1 star but I went with three because the front of the house staff were awesome. I probably won't return for quite a while, and when I do decide to give it a second shot, I hope it's a different cook. A Chef doesn't make those kinds of mistakes, cooks...
Read moreThis was one of the worst Mexican restaurants I have ever been to! I am not one to ever return my food or complain as it's not my style. I ordered Arroz Con Pollo and what I received was unrecognizable. My plate had what was clearly from a frozen vegetable mix (the ones you buy in the grocery store) of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots amidst the chicken and "cream sauce". All of which I have never seen before in this dish, but I was willing to try. When I attempted taking a bite, I realized the veggies were still frozen in the middle. I didn't eat anything else on my plate and did not ask for a refund. My husband requested a seafood dish of some sort...I honestly don't recall which one, but he only ate half of it until he found a piece of seafood that he felt was undercooked. This was the first and last time we went to this restaurant. Again, I am not one to complain. We paid full price for our meal that day, but after the fact I feel like I need to share so no one has an experience...
