My wife and I stopped to get something to eat together at a diner since we didn't have the kids and well we stopped here. First time in didn't know it was a pick you own seat the waitress kinda snapped you pick your spot. So we did the corner booth. And then it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks of chocolate shake, hot tea and water. The waitress forgot our straw for the shake and it took my wife (not the quietest person by far) 3 times of trying to get the waitresses attention to get a straw. After we get our drinks and are ordering I seen a couple different groups come in and sit at different tables. The waitress takes our order eggs Benedict for my wife and the dons double big whammy for me then large nachos to split. So not that complex of an order considering some of the things on the menu. As I am going to mix the sugar I put in my tea I notice while unrolling the utensils that my spoon is sticking to the napkin its wrapped in and is covered in some sort of old sauce. .. along with my fork. It has been a good 20 since we got our drinks and ordered our food at this point cause I let my tea steap longer than most. And the waitress walks past with other people's drinks who I noticed come in when we were ordering. And I tried to get her attention she didn't hear me. Ok I'm not the loudest I get it I'm hard to hear. She comes back by with some more drinks for them was a group of 5 I believe. I again tried to get her attention a lil louder and believed I made eye contact with her again ignored. When she walked back by after dropping those off I tried to get her attention again. Again ignored then she came back by after a few more min with the other groups food. And I get some things take longer to cook than others but when they are getting similar things that we got like come on. It was the fourth time of trying to get her attention making eye contact with my hand up waving and saying something that did it for me. My wife and I walked out and Left drove around the block then I went back in to tell them why I left and she was finally bringing the food to the table 50 minutes after we ordered. I told the lady we are taking it to go and not paying for it and told her exactly why. She apologized about it taking so long and when I told her it was also due to being ignored she said she was hard at hearing. But that's still no excuse I made eye contact and was blatantly trying to get your attention. If you're hard at hearing use your eyes to see your surroundings and pay attention if you're...
Read moreI was very disappointed. We had went into Don’s on Wednesday the 8th And I was excited because I hadn’t been out to eat here since March 20 when we went on lockdown. The bartenders really nice I like her a lot but she failed to wear her facemask as the guidelines that were laid out for us to go into a a public eatery. I did speak with her about it she did wear it from that point forward saying that she was just busy in the meantime there was another lady there look like she was an employee off work who once again walked all over saying hello to the bathroom and everywhere else with no mask at that time I looked at my husband and I said I can’t sit here anymore I got to go and I left and he did speak to the bartender and said We were leaving due to no Mask. As I was in the parking lot the lady with no mask came out and was leaving and I asked her why she didn’t wear her mask at the bar she walked all around and she said she didn’t even realize that she wasn’t wearing her mask and she thanked me for telling her how I felt. I did explain that I hadn’t been down there since lock down but I was very disappointed because that was where I wanted to go for the best breakfast and a bloody Mary. So the next day we tried it again the bartender wasn’t wearing her mask I had to say something about that then she tried really hard to wear it even though there was a lot of times that she did not wear it at all. Then a couple came in and the lady went to the bathroom walk the floor stood in the middle of it watching TV and once again no mask. So as I was leaving I just stopped in the middle of the floor and I said I was very disappointed in the way that they were handling the mask situation and I asked the lady where her mask was and she told me it was on the table and I looked at her and told her it was supposed to be on her face and the man beside her told me to get the hell out of the bar now which I was already on my way out. Don’s went for being my best place to a place I won’t go again very disappointed they are not wearing their mask as they should be. They are not enforcing it.So for anybody who has been out and about Think twice before...
Read moreToday was my first visit, April, 8th, 2021 @0500 hours, I ordered a medium rare 10 oz New York strip steak with eggs and hash browns, the hash browns were crisped on top and cooked perfectly, over easy eggs were perfect as well, and the steak was cooked perfect and had a perfect pink center. I swear the cook likes or loves his job and takes it very seriously because I can taste it in his cooking. Nothing was burnt. That man who was cooking at the time deserves recognition.
The restaurant had a dive feel to it. Also the staff in the front had masks but it wasn't worn properly, it wasn't over the mouth and nose. Although the restaurant signage at the front door says masks required but it didn't seem like staff Care to comply with that rule. So I don't think it's necessary to wear a mask in the restaurant at all... So if you plan to visit, don't worry about bringing a mask because nobody seems to care.
I will return ONLY if that same cook is on duty! I'm afraid other cooks won't be of his caliber, but there's only one way to find out...
9/23/2021 I ordered the hamburger steak dinner and they totally messed that up. It didn't have the gravy, mushrooms or onions. Inside was just mashed potatoes and the steak burger... And they forgot my pilaf rice.
My 10oz new York steak is smaller and thinner than before and isn't as tasty like...
