I placed a mobile order for a chicken sandwich and a large fry for drive-thru pick up before leaving the Outlet mall next door to this McDonald's location. Once I arrived on the street at McDonald's location and was going to pull into the parking lot I couldn't pull into the entrance at first. The two drive-thru lines were backed up throughout the whole parking lot in every direction and all entrances and did not move at all for over 15 minutes while I sat at the street entrance. I thought I was it due to a possible vehicle breaking down at the drive-thru window. Never in my 48 years have I ever seen this kind of gridlock or level of rude and unacceptable customer service either! Nor have I seen so many unhappy customers at a restaurant of this magnitude ever. I decided to try to park and go inside to pick up my order since there was no movement at all in the drive-thru. So after some maneuvering and other customers helping me I was able to get out of the drive-thru line because I was so far back into the parking lot. I was able to finally pull out of the parking lot and had to get back out on the main road again to navigate the backup of cars and customers in the drive-thru to find a space to park my car. After going around the block several times I was able to pull back in the parking lot which I had to carefully navigate and wait for someone to leave to get a parking space. I finally got inside and the lobby was full of unhappy customers waiting for a very long time also. Customers were coming inside because of food missing from their purchases etc. One lady who was first in line was standing at the register waiting for someone to acknowledge and assist her. She wanted to cancel her order and get her money refunded because of the unacceptable customer service and the incredibly long time she had been standing there waiting. She was there for over 20 minutes she said before I walked inside. There were at least 6 to 8 people working not counting the main cook /food prep area and the manager. No one and I mean no one would come to the front counter. While I was there was no point in time that anyone was addressing the crowd of people inside or taking care of customers at the register or counter. The manager repeatedly kept walking past everyone standing in line never stopped to assist customers and never spoke to any customers the entire time either. We could see all the employees from the mobile pick-up counter and the register area. Multiple people tried to speak to the employees but they just ignored all of the pleas for customer service. We all just stood there waiting and waiting while the lines continued to grow inside and out. Finally, one girl came up to the mobile counter to give out an order. It took me twice calling out to her to get her to address me. I explained I had placed a mobile drive-thru order and decided to come inside to get it because not one vehicle had moved for the extremely long period I sat in line. I told her I thought maybe a car broke down or something in their drive-thru and asked her if that was the reason why they were so badly backed up inside and outside. She was not happy that I was persistent in getting her to address me because of her body language as she finally walked back to me and the other customers waiting. Then when I explained everything and showed her my mobile code/number she was very unhappy with her tone and rude while speaking to me. She also told me because I placed the order for drive-thru pick-up that there was no guarantee that I would be helped or that they would get it to me. Even tho I told her I tried to change the pick up to inside but it would not let me because the location was coming up as closed. It was just after 9 pm. After waiting even longer the manager brings a bag up and calls out a different number with my name. I named off my number and the items I ordered and it was my order. She was rude because I didn't know they changed my order number. She never gave an apology for the long wait or offered a coupon or a refund. ...
Read moreAbout 330ish (I didn't look at the clock, but we dropped someone off at work, so I know the estimate) we ordered, or rather tried to order our food We ordered a med number nine with a dr pepper A cheeseburger kids meal with ketchup and cheese only, fries and a sprite When we tried to order a number med number one, no onions with JUST ICE as a drink we ran into problems Okay maybe the girl was new, but she kept trying to make the number one into three separate things (just ice is charged as a full price drink at this location fyi, so make it part of a combo) Then she cut us off and told us our price without making the number one a combo and not letting us finish our order (a 20 piece nugget) At the window she was clearly confused but finally figured it out and added our nuggets. We skipped getting the receipt because NORMALLY we don't have a problem with this one. And besides, we have a unique order, how many orders do the get with a number one and the drink is JUST ICE Okay next window, the lady who gave us our food gave us our three drinks, the kid meal box and a "c" sized bag that was it. There was a smaller bag on the counter, but she insisted that the c bag was everything and we left.
Naturally we dug into the fries right away as we left to go on our errands, but after I demolished my fries I wanted one of my burgers and felt around in the bag.
I mentioned it was a c bag and I would like to point out that it was full. Two med fries A big Mac Two boxes of 10 piece nuggets ...
... No cheeseburgers, they wouldn't have fit in the bag, and foresight reminds me that you are not allowed to put that much food in a c bag sigh
We finish running our errands and go back to the mcds. (Around 530) We drive right the food window. The guy at the window listened to us and passed us off to the woman who gave us our food
I want to point out our suv is hard to forget, the front window refuses to roll down so we roll down the back window and let the 8 year old take food from the people and my hair is two toned
The lady comes to the window and RUDELY insist that she gave us all our food. Which sets me off so I'll admit I got rude too and listed everything in the bag, which she told me to calm down.
She wanted our receipt, fair, but we didn't have it. This is where I wish I was inside the store, cause I would have asked how many people order just ice with q big Mac, which is practically never, because the person who took our order hadn't heard of it being a thing, and we admitted it was sometime around 330, they could have looked it up. Oh yeah, the order got totaled twice, but I dont know if that gets saved on thier history. When we drove around the building the lady qt the window was rude again, obviously not meaning for us to hear her but the window was still down.
And she was rude yet again when she handed us our food.
Question, if YOU mess up someone's order, and they call you out on it, are you really justified to be angry at them and...
Read moreI recently visited a McDonald's and had a rather disappointing experience that left me feeling like I was dining in a subway rather than a fast-food establishment.
From the moment I walked in, I noticed a significant lack of personal interaction. It felt more like a ghost town than a bustling restaurant. The absence of mirrors in the bathroom was odd; I found myself wondering if I should even take the time to check my appearance before leaving. The front register area looked deserted, which added to the eerie atmosphere.
One of the most frustrating aspects of my visit was the lack of self-service options. There were no stands for ketchup, drinks, or straws, which made it feel like I was navigating a completely different kind of dining experience. Additionally, I struggled to find napkins, highlighting a clear gap in customer service and convenience.
Despite being a fast-food restaurant, I experienced a 20-minute wait for my food. This was far from the "fast" in fast food, leaving me feeling quite frustrated. It made me reflect on the implications of the push for higher wages and the elimination of staff; perhaps those advocating for a $15 minimum wage should spend some time in establishments like this to truly understand the impact of reduced service.
Overall, my visit to this McDonald's was underwhelming and left me feeling disconnected from the experience. The lack of basic amenities and the extended wait time made it clear that something is missing in the current fast-food model. If you’re looking for the traditional McDonald's experience, you might want to reconsider...
