The only reason I can honestly give this place an extra star is because of the black walnut maple syrup. However, their owner is incredibly rude, and that translates to the experience with the staff, as well. I came here 3x/week for two months earlier this year to do my hybrid job and enjoy a coffee. Every time, I was met with rude customer service. I endured it because I enjoyed working in the smaller crowds, but I was absolutely incensed when I was confronted by the owner—here’s the story:
Owner is chatting with a customer, which he has every right to do, when I walk in. He was away from the counter with no other staff there. So, I sit down and make myself comfortable while waiting for their conversation to end—no rush at all on my end. While I put my headphones on and start working, 10 minutes later, the owner taps me on my shoulder and says, “Are you going to order something?” I said, “I will order in a couple minutes if that’s okay.” He gives me a dirty, ratty look and says, “As long you’re in my shop you need to order now.” I look around at the other patrons in the shop who are stunned at his behavior. I order a drink to-go, then leave, intent on never returning. Unfortunately, I left my glasses there and returned the next day. Again, I was met by the owner. I asked whether they had seen any glasses. He scoffed and said, “Should have come back earlier.”
It’s extremely unfortunate that the service is this poor, and it clearly stems from their owner. It’s unfortunate, because the concept in a small town like Mason has so much potential. However, I will not be returning due to the list of negative encounters I have had at Adesso. I recommend you try Cavu, Kala, or Coccoon, all of which are within 10 minutes of Downtown Mason. Cincinnati has an excellent coffee scene, too. I am looking to find a substitute for the black walnut drink, but that’s about all I miss...
Read moreI came on a Friday night around 8:50pm, which now I know is close to closing time for a coffee shop. There is a large house which I parked in a spot at believing that it was the houses spots and it also did not have signs saying parking for Adesso’s coffee only. I walked over to get a quick cone of ice cream from the ice cream shop next door with my girlfriend and younger brother who I drove with me. A lady from the coffee shop came over at 8:55 and yelled at my brother that he needed to move his car from the lot even though I clearly drove it, my brother was not at all having a good night and quite frankly the ice cream was just to get him to be a little happier, I even told my girlfriend oh we should go check that out sometime before we were rudely laid into for no apparent reason. The coffee shop literally had 3 people and an empty parking lot, and I am not from the mason area to know that there is these imaginary signs that says it’s for the coffee house only. Meanwhile when I was walking back to get in my car to move it I saw two ladies walk to their suv from the ice cream shop and get in. I wish I could visit the coffee shop sometime but now I sour want to bring anyone near there if this is how they treat people going to other local businesses and ultilzing spaces that aren’t needed. I apologize if this seems rude to post online but I feel like people need to be warned of how explosive the staff are. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but it hurt me a lot that they went after my brother who was completely innocent and actually has a huge fear of driving alone anyways and has anxiety surrounding cars already and this literally could have put him over to not try driving again. I was the driver and I will take responsibility and apologize for not parking in the right...

Was really excited to try a new coffee shop that wasn't a starbucks. My friend and I walked in to a beautiful dining area and great atmosphere, great music was playing and even a fire place going, LOVE. But everything went south when we approached the coffee bar.
My friend and I have never been here and we told the barista that, which is whoever that worked 01/30 1-230pm. We were recommended a few drinks and the tone of voice that the barista had with us was less than pleasant.
Then when she made our drinks there was something sticking to the inside of the milk carton (which was plastic) and the milk tasted funny in the drink. The flavoring was almost nonexistent and it tastes like a plain cappuccino and if I wanted that, which we did not order, I could've just gone to starbucks. The barista used "it's the end of my shift" excuse to explain her lack of a better attitude and for my friend's drink mistake and constantly spilling.
Both of us being certified baristas, we enjoy trying new coffee shops. This was also our second one of the day and what a disappointment. We love coffee, we love new coffee and modern environments to enjoy coffee. But we do not enjoy bad attitudes and do not enjoy that bad attitude being incorporated into a delicious (in this case not) combination of milk and espresso and flavor.
Highly recommend this place if you enjoy sour tones in behavior and less than par...
