D.A. Subs — Restaurant in Matawan

Called on Tuesday, put not 1 sub but 3 sub orders over the phone so we can run in and pick them Up.. all 3 subs were wrong! Called back not even half Out later and person who took my order apologized but pretty much told me there’s nothing she can do “supposedly” called out to owner and owner was dealing with “family issues” couldn’t give me a call till the next day and was going to make it right .. never got a call back, owner was Daniel and I’m still waiting for a call back.. we weren’t looking for 3 full free subs just atleast 1 sub right or some money back our bill came out too 37$ you would think during hard times like now the owner would want to reach out and make this right. The best subs around this area! Unlike another reviewer I think their bread is awesome; fresh, soft and a nice big size. The amount of filling in each sub is like the old days. Plenty of meat, cheese, and all the toppings that go on a traditional sub. Plus, they have several unusual subs, (including breakfast subs) that you wouldn't find in most other places. I always ask for extra this, extra that, skip one thing skip another (you know, one of those annoying customers) ... they always accomodate me, every single time. I've been ordering from them since the 80s and I don't think they ever got an order wrong!! I have tried lots of other sub shops, but...

First of all, this place is cash only which is annoying because you have to pay a $2.00 surcharge to use their ATM. I walked in and wasn’t greeted or anything; the men behind the counter just stood their staring at me. I also ordered a chicken parm sub and when I opened it, the sandwich was soggy, the bread was covered on the inside & outside with sauce. Lastly, a chicken parm sandwich should have a thin piece of chicken in it. This one had a massive block of chicken and was literally sliding off the sandwich. 9/10 would NOT recommend. CHICKEN...
