Friday, January 17th around 10:30pm I walked into the restaurant with two of my mentees with hope to end our Movie night with the infamous pancakes at IHOP! We were immediately greeted and slowly seated. I looked through the restuarant to see if it was crowded due to being seated slowly. While servers walked past us, someone eventually sat us but not without letting us know it wasnt her job or section for the night. After being seating she said someone would be with us. So we waited and then heard a very loud and ghetto speaking server overwhelmed at the height of one of the customer's son. She was so loud, everyone; customers, the little that were there turned to look. She sat them and then began taking their drink orders. I had to calm one of my mentees because it was obvious we were there longer and hadn't been served, not even a drink. So I strategically waited to see just how long it would take and time kept passing. There was 1 server taking orders on my side. 1 on the other who I saw take a table refills and then one more cleaning. So the 1 server on my side finally came over and was shocked to know no one had taken our order (the loud ghetto server). She then proceeds to tell us our section wasnt her area to serve and she ain't doing it while other people sit on their butts in the back. She walks off, talks to someone and then at least 5 people (servers) come from the back. Still no one comes to our table. I wait for someone and the same ghetto lady who seems to be the hardest one working that night comes back to at least take our orders and proceeds to tell us how unfair it was. I politely abs calmly ask for the Manager on duty for the night. It took time for her to come because now there's people at the register needing to pay. Did I mention that the restaurant had maybe 5 tables with people at it? So I put on my coat, ho to the register and hear her tell the Manager that I was leaving because of the wait. The Manager ask for a moment with an attitude. I then asked for the General Manager's name because of her attitude I knew my complaint would fall on deaf ears. So she stated the first name of the general manager but failed to say the last name. I told them I would wait until they serviced the customer at the register and I wanted the full name and contact number. They stalled and I had to firmly say it again. As I was walking out, I heard one them say, "She could have waited." I could have but because I'm a Manager, the Customer Service alone made me leave. I took my money to Cracker Barrell down the street told them of my experience at IHOP and they made sure they took care of us. I'm only sharing this so you can train your servers. I won't forget IHOP and I'll try it another day but I was very disappointed that night. I refuse to let one bad night destroy the reputation of the franchise....and that's what I don't think the workers that night understood. They represent the franchise, the brand, the name, etc. I've been meaning to complete this survey and had so many things come up....for me to remember and complete the survey only shows how horrible the experience was. But this experience was more than frustrating, it was almost hilarious as somebody who is a leading General Manager with restaurant experience in FOH & BOH.
A group of friends and I were having a small get together / party, and it got to be late at night - 1am , my friend calls ahead to check if 1. This store is open, and 2. To give the staff a heads up and ASK if it was alright for a table top of 11 to show up that late. They confirmed that it was alright, and we continued to drive to iHop. We get to this restaurant at 1am, there is a small wait as there aren’t many employees, which we understand - this is NOT the reason my friends and I were upset - so we wait roughly 20-25 minutes in the lobby/seating area. They let us know they moved tables around and that our area is ready for us, hooray! We all go to the tables, we wait 10 minutes for drinks, and then it takes our waitress (who we forget the name, we think her name is Brianna?) roughly 15 more minutes to come back and take our order, as she begins on the first order, her tablet messes up - no big deal, she’ll just come back in a couple minutes and fix it right? Wrong. She goes and sits down on her phone or cashing out other tables, so my friend goes up to her and says “hey I think we are just going to head out” [because it has been about 15 MORE minutes after we assumed she was coming back] - to which she responds “yeah, me too” - so to OUR understanding, she was never PLANNING on coming back to take our order. We had a table top of 11 and 1am , we were going to tip well enough to make it worth while, if not more. Just goes to show exactly why this location is slowing down and losing money, employees who cannot regulate their emotions - and better yet, I ordered chocolate milk, to which she proceeded to spill on me as she handed it to me. Which I forgave her due to the fact that I assumed she would give me more then 2 pieces of paper towel to clean up, along with ANY ounce of food on the tables , but sadly - that couldn’t be...
Read moreYou don't get any increase in the amount of food but the prices keep on going up they have mainly breakfast yes I do have a reduced rate from Monday through Friday during certain times starting in the morning but then when they dropped the price where the prices should be then they dropped the amount of food you get so it's really no deal. And do they have a reduced price in the evening starting at 3:00 till in the evening yes I do overall you actually get more food then for what you pay for but then they have pre-selected things already for that man you just like the breakfast one but they have lunch special Monday through Friday. And even though there may be empty tables instead of seating everybodyeven though they may not have servers to wait on them right away they should at least see people if there's empty booth and tables and at least give them their drinks people don't mind sitting and waiting for a little while in cases like that but sometimes they sit and make you wait for like half an hour or better so could there be improvements most definitely you make suggestions to the supervisor manager and for some reason they know it all but you can go to other places that are real successful and full all of the time and you can see why people are always there they don't doubt you on prices for what you order you get a decent amount and they have a good variation on their menu breakfast lunch and supper and the service is excellent and there as soon as the table opens up the seat someone and they're quick about bringing your food wonderful atmosphere plenty of parking around there wonderful people running the place and that is the knife and fork in Monroe North Carolina this one that I just talked about here this IHOP is in Matthews 9211 East Independence Boulevard.. and yes we have had breakfast there lunch there and dinner a mainly everything is breakfast and lunch there are vegetable selection is a lot to be desired not good in that area there's a fair amount of parking not extreme would I recommend the knife and fork in Monroe North Carolina over that place in a heartbeat and that is at the East...
