First time dining here was Sunday 01/28/2018. Overall I was not impressed. The meal started at 5 stars but by the time it was over it left a lot to be desired. Great place, great bar (although I did not drink that day), good décor and lots of televisions. Noise level is high. It got very loud in there very quickly. Seating is extremely poor. I only saw one low table with standard chairs. Everything else is high top tables with hard wooden stools. I have a back injury. I grew so uncomfortable I ended up having to stand to eat my entire meal. I know the waitress saw this as she was at our table several times while I was standing but did not address this at all. Service in general was really good. Took a little while to get our entrées considering it was not busy and was early on a Sunday. Firstly, those complimentary hush puppies they bring you while you wait for your order are to die for. I could have eaten 5 baskets of those. Ordered the onion rings appetizer. Overcooked. Good tasty breading but the onions themselves were not good. They use the thin, papery outer layers of the onion which most times are almost inedible raw but once you fry them they turn into plastic. My wife ordered the burnt ends appetizer as her entrée and seemed pleased with that. I kept it simple. Basic burger with bacon and fries. It takes a lot to mess that meal up. Ordered it medium well which, as anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of cooking knows, this means a trace amount of pink remaining. I swear they put the burger on the grill underneath an anvil and walked away. It was literally cauterized, a veritable fossil when they brought it to me. Cooked completely through, dry and devoid of any flavor except for the grainy, ashy char of a grill that was not scraped before cooking. It tasted almost of chemicals, much like liquid smoke or something. Even three pieces of bacon couldn't save this thing. Half the French fries were crispy and delicious. The other half were limp and 10 seconds north of cold and raw in the center. Didn't have time or the patience to send it back. Oh, and these prices weren't exactly shy either. Chili's has routinely done better than this and I consider them to be the bottom of the barrel. Left sorely disappointed and unsure if I will be returning to allow an opportunity for redemption. Eager to see a response from...
Read moreI'm just adding on to a prior review. I was invited here for a belated birthday outing with some friends. We sat at the bar on the far end. We had a few beers and some cocktails, and our bartenders name was Lauren. Phenomenal bartender and the hostess with the mostest. Great personality, very engaging and attentive. We had Brisket Nachos, a Cuban, and a Smokehouse Dip, which I ordered as Lauren highly recommended this particular sandwich. It came with a nice healthy serving of smokehouse au jus, which I also used on my garlic, Parmesan mashed potatoes. All of the food and appetizers were very nicely done. The service(Lauren) and the vibe are exceptional in a laid-back relaxing atmosphere. Just a really great place to kick back, relax, and enjoy some really good food, appetizers, and beverages of your choosing. I'm meeting a colleague here as it is mutually accessible for both of us. I've been to the original location of Mac's Speed Shop on South Blvd on any number of occasions. They've done a phenomenal job of replicating that experience and vibe. We met in the middle of the afternoon on Friday, and they still managed to have a respectable turnout for that time of day. We split the pulled-pork nachos and had a beer(or 2) and a cocktail. The beer and cocktails were outstanding, as were the nachos. It's a very vibrant and lively atmosphere with plenty of seating and TV's available. Yet, you could actually have a nice conversation without being unnecessarily overwhelmed by the noise. The staff members were very pleasant, helpful, and friendly. Rachael (I believe) was the on-duty manager and was exceptionally kind when speaking with her. The restaurant was exceptionally clean, as were the restrooms and exterior of the building. I look forward to returning to this restaurant and any other restaurant that has Mac's Speed Shop on the building. If you took the time to read this review, please take a 1/2 second and click...
Read more1st visit so I had no expectations whatsoever. Seems to be a great spot if you want to hang out at the bar, have drinks, have a quick bite and not expect much service. It's not a place I would recommend for families. I will say that was the fastest eat in I have ever done because the service we received was a deal breaker for me. I just couldn't deal with it today. I can assume that they only offer you a physical menu if you are a senior because a lovely couple was offered one and we weren't offered a menu or told that we could access it online via the QR code. We figured that out after we pulled the drink menu out from behind the beer holder it was hiding in. Our waitress seems to be a nice person from the hello we got but, she was not attentive at all, atleast not to us. We had to ask the cook I assume he was because he bought out our food, for more tea because our waitress hadn't been to us in some time because she was preoccupied conversing with another table about casual convos for about 4 minutes. I don't expect the red carpet but I do like to know you atleast know we are sitting here. Throw us a drink every once in a while. I felt like we were put in the corner and forgot about. Anyway, only some of the foods come with a side. The tacos had am interesting flavor. A lot of my salsa fell out of my taco because it was about 3/4 salsa and hardly any meat. Juice dripping everywhere when you pick it up. I want to think that it was so much salsa piled on to hide the dryness of the meat. My husband said the wings were decent. Like I said it's a great spot if you are looking for a quick fast bite or drink and next...
