Buffalo Wild Wings — Restaurant in Mattoon

We got here between 6:05 to 6:15, we got 3 Appetizers. We came here to celebrate my son's 15ths Birthday. We watched other people come in after us. After, 1 hour and 15 mins. 2 of the appetizers came out. It was now, 7:30. Other tables recieved there orders, beside us and a older couple that was here the Sametime we were. Everyone else came in after us.. we never recieved a refill until 2 hours in. The place was not as busy. But, we calmly waited. At 8pm our food arrived. The last appetizer was the last time that arrived. They comped the first, 2 appetizers. There was 8 of us 2 on different tickets. When, they did talk about the issue the waitress was talking to my teenage kids about the issue and states, the cooks suck, and I didn't hear what else she said. Not sure how professional the statement was even if its true. But, bluntly saying it to customers and basically not being a team player. You could of stated, We have a cook who is under staffed or learning. Your waitress is the face of the operation and the lack of being able to communicate a more positive way of telling us. Other then, stabbing them in the back. They suck. That's management's job to pull them aside privately to correct the situation.. should never tell your customers your team Mate sucks. Even to teenage kids, so they can sit there and question professionalism of the workplace. Almost, like workplace bulling. Anyways, me n my family were more upset the lack of communication, the professionalism, it did take 2 hours to recieve our food and we waited patiently. We did Tip generously, because our waitress was not the girl who told us "the cooks suck" another waitress did. Whats Sad, it was my sons 16th birthday and we didn't even get to celebrate and buy a cake or dessert. Because, we never seen our waitress for hour n 15 to 20 mins to get a refill. No one would look at our table or just seemed to be solely distracted.. I don't know, I give it 2 stars just for my son Loves, loves BDUBD. Other then, that worse! Experience...

I took my son to Bdubs in Mattoon this afternoon. I hadn't been there in years because I was not impressed with the food in the past. But since he wanted to go there, I decided to give it another try. We had eaten at the one in Decatur recently and it wasn't bad. I wasn't very hungry so decided to order the "deluxe" nachos. My son ordered the spicy, hard chicken balls as I call them. I attempted to cut one in half to try a bite of his, and I actually couldn't. So, I took a bite out of a whole one. It left a lot to be desired. My nachos were anything but deluxe. They were just chips with a drizzle of runny sour cream and a few hot peppers. I really couldn't see any queso as in the menu description. I don't think there was any cheese. They were cold and tasteless. There was a tiny cup of salsa that left a lot to be desired as well. The total bill for this? $45 (without the tip)!! I left feeling very unsatisfied, and my son didn't even eat half his chicken balls, and he used to LOVE BWW. They were also cold. I think they'd been sitting for a couple of days. I give the food a "one." I won't be going back again for another 8 years. Why do people love this place? I don't understand it. My order was delivered missing the drink, the wing sauce, and the dipping sauce. I contacted the store directly knowing doordash doesnt have control over those things. When I spoke with the store, they said 'oh I guess they missed the drink.' Then said they could do 1 of two things. I could drive to the store to get the sauce , or I could be placed on an IOU list and next time I dined in the restaurant, they would give me my sauce then. (Which honestly makes no sense to me becuase the sauce is worked into the price of the wings so giving me sauce for a new order in the future doesnt really solve anything). I stated that there was a reason I had the food delivered and hadn’t pick it up myself. I asked if I were to make the 15 minute drive to the store to get the sauce, were the going to include fresh wings, or would it just be the sauce to bring home and put on cold, now dry, inedible wings? She said they would only be giving me the sauce. I worked in the food industry for years, as a server, hostess, and manager. I would have never handled it that way, leaving the customer with sub par food. I would have happily taken the cold dry wings to the store and exchanged them for fresh ones. I dont want a free meal or anything comped. I just want what I ordered. Hot wings with sauce...
