I’ve been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants/food joints on Maui from Ba Le in Kahului and Kihei, Noodle Bar in Lahaina, to Vietnamese cuisine in Kihei. None of them have hit the mark for me. I’ve only found Oahu having the best Vietnamese food spots. But of course, I hate that I have to pay the airfare just to eat at a restaurant. Even though I’m a local, those inter island flight are still not cheap like they should be. My boyfriend knows how much I really love and miss Vietnamese food ever since I moved to Maui. I’m originally from San Jose, California. If you know.. then you know that it’s practically little Vietnam in San Jose. San Jose is full of Vietnamese people for whatever reason so it holds one of the best Vietnamese food spots and chefs in the country. I’m half Vietnamese myself and you can call me biased but I’d like to say I know how Vietnamese food should be. So when my boyfriend introduced me to Aloha Pho Maui I was so excited. Even though I didn’t have a good experience with the other restaurants on Maui I still had hope for good Vietnamese food on Maui. With that said I can definitely say Aloha pho Maui is it. My boyfriend miraculously tracked them down for me because unfortunately they don’t have social media but I’m hoping one day they will have it so it’s easier to find them and boost up their business because they’re food is exactly what I’ve been looking for. My boyfriend found them through someone else social media he follows. Now I ordered the banh mi thit nuong ( Vietnamese barbecue pork sandwich) and one of my favorite Vietnamese’s soups growing up, Bun Bo Hue ( Vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup). The meat in the sandwich was very flavorful and marinated well and the bread was crunchy and soft on the inside. It was perfect. The soup was also delicious. It had everything in it that I grew up loving from the steamed pork to the perfectly tender cuts of beef. This place is a must try. They picked just the right handful of Vietnamese classics to put on their menu to satisfy your Vietnamese cuisine cravings. I highly recommend to go give them a try šŸ™šŸ» please. I don’t want this food truck to go because it’s hard to make a successful business in Maui and I get so sad when my favorite places go because of it.

Back again for a quick, delicious and affordable lunch! I was super starved so I got the pork sandwich with chicken wings to share. My mom ordered the grilled pork, broken rice plate and sister got a noodle dish with crispy pork. My sandwich came out last and at that time I remembered to take a picture. šŸ˜‚ You can tell a lot of TLC went into such a simple sandwich. They told me it was late because they remade it because the first was soggy and not up to standard. Wow! Love it. Everything was literally broke the mouth. I ate everybody's food. The sandwich had the perfect meat, bread and sandwich ratio. The chicken wings were perfectly crisp and served with a sweet and sour sauce. I like that my sisters plate had a bunch of fresh vegetables and herbs, it complimented the heavy pork pieces. Mom's plate was also cooked to perfection. The pork was soft and tasted like it was marinated in lemongrass. It went well with the meatloaf. I would recommend mom's plate if you want to try something new and authentic. Definitely will be back and highly recommend!

If you love Vietnamese food--run don't walk to this amazing truck! Having traveled to Vietnam and grown up eating incredible Vietnamese food--Maui has been a sad scene for this incredible cuisine until Aloha Pho! I could hardly believe my taste buds the first time I tried it and quickly have made this a must-go stop for my entire pho loving extended family. Everyone echos the same thing--'this is the best pho and soup in Maui'. Things to try Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, any Pho, pepper salted shrimp! Nice shaded places to sit in the picnic area as well!

Def one of the better Vietnamese pho I’ve had in Maui where the authenticity is up there. I ordered the Spices beef noodle soup and shrimp rolls. Ingredients were fresh. Broth was on point and I loved how it was loaded with herbs. I can tolerate spice but there is some kick to it which I like. The flavor wasn’t too overpowering and uncle gives you a little extra sauce on the side if you want more to it. Perfect for a cold, rainy day.

My only issue was he used udon noodles instead of the regular flat pho noodles but it wasn’t a big deal.

Shrimp rolls were nice and crunchy and actually had good size shrimp.

Pro tip: Uncle says ordering on phone is 30% than door dash and you can ask for extra basil or condiments and he will gladly give it to you! Really nice guy and I’m def coming...
