Maui Shrimp Express — Restaurant in Maui

Maui Shrimp is located in the food truck park in Kahului across from Costco. The popcorn shrimp & fries is actually my boyfriends favorite thing to order from here. Which is perfect for snacking on the drive home. I’ll feed him the big fries & I’ll snack on the small ones. Because I’m that type of girlfriend that wasn’t hungry when he ordered but always likes to sample. Plus if you go during high traffic times for lunch or dinner seats might be limited. Or if you do find a seat you’ll get to complete with the chickens for your food. I just don’t recommend feeding them, unless you want to be surrounded by all of them fighting for your food. Xoxo,...

Maui shrimp has the freshest shrimps compared to its neighboring food trucks. If you want the freshest at a fair price, give these guys a try.

The garlic scampi comes with about 10 shrimps and rice. The shell and had ate already removed so the flavors have a harder time sticking to it but it is a lot easier to eat. These are the larger 40-10 shrimps that are used. The rice is hard and felt undercooked.

Overall a good try to compare both shrimp trucks are the flavors between them are different.

I live in Hawaii work in the restaurant industry. The rice was extremely saggy from the first bite. It wasn’t even the butter cause this part of the rice didn’t have butter. The rule is is the rice is bad remake it and do it right. But selling bad rice and also giving mostly rice and barely any shrimp.
