During our stay on Maui we stayed at the Aston so I ordered food from the restaurant there one evening called the Beach Club at 3445 LowerHonoapiilani Rd Lahaina, HI. 97761. I walked into the restaurant and it was not busy at this time. It was about 8:00 P.M. At first the host was polite, but when I went back to picked up our ordered food it was a different story. When I walked back into the restaurant I saw our food sitting on the hostess table at the restaurants entrance ready for pickup. The host met me, I gave the host the request payment and information he requested. I charged the food to our room and walked away. While sitting with my family at the pool I noticed the host from the restaurant approaching us. As I greeted him, he did not speak with me, he asked my wife who was sitting right next to me if she would fix my hand writing on the receipt because it was not legible to him. This is after I told him several times at the restaurant the request information. Before he walked away he made several rude comments to us stating that he was not satisfied about a tip for this carry out order and how he had to track us down. He then walked away. Several minutes later I walked back into the restaurant and spoke with him letting him know that his attitude and comments had upset me and my family. I tried giving him the tip that he started earlier that he told me he felt like he deserved. He was very polite at this time by just listening and did not say anything back to me. He refused my tip so, I left his tip on the hostess entrance stand and walked away. I never received an apology and I left feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome at this restaurant. Our food was not very good. I ordered 3 kid’s meals and a Caesar salad and grilled chicken sandwich meals. This meal cost me a little over $76 dollars. The food trucks next to the Aston were much better. I am not going to recommend this restaurant unless you have to go here in a pinch or just need somewhere to go. The place was clean and the drinks were good. The restaurants entertainment the day before was pleasant. This restaurant has a pool in front and behind it. This restaurant also has a bar which the drinks were good but a bit over priced for what they are. As for me I will not be returning to this place. There are much better...
Read moreWe stayed at the Aston Kaanapali Shores last week and the visited the Beach house a couple of times. It really depends on who is working cause we had too totally different experiences. Wasn't spectacular by any means. First morning, server was fast, attentive and simply we got service. no fuss, you know get the menu order and simple politeness and everyone on their merry way. Average to above rating. The next time we visited for Breakfast must have been the worst experience of my life we any establishment. The server we had must have been the rudest person ever, and openly rude. Not within 30sec of us sitting down he was ready to take our order, we hadn't even pickup the menu. Wife ordered tea; hot tea; his comment was who drinks hot tea? when the tea came out, he had sent Camoline tea. We had to send that back and had to ask for Black / Breakfast tea. Tea came out, no milk. We had to ask for Milk, they seemed upset. I then attempted to call the server over a few time to take our breakfast order and he made eye contact each time and then turned and went to attend to other tables that didn't need service. finally we placed our order, I had the omlette, he didn't ask what time of bread, which the server on the first day had asked. Wife ordered the pancake, and specified No Meat. When her dish came out, it was loaded with sausages. We had to send that back; now you can see our frustration. Finally they came with the pancake; no syrup. We had to ask for the syrup. Others around us had ordered pancake and we saw that when their dish came it was all included without the need to ask. Someone came and dropped the syrup. Then worst of all, our server came to my wife and said " now is there anything less I can run and get for you" we politely replied no. Simplify like the first day, we just wanted someone to take our order, bring out the correct order and move on. That wasn't the end of the drama. This server, not within a minute into us digging into the breakfast comes over and backhanding leaves the bill on the opposite side of our table without saying a word. I was horrified that someone could be that rude in the service industry. This server didn't look like a local, older guy with and American accent. so again, it depend on who is serving you. otherwise...

The decor has a fish tank at the entrance, small wooded outrigger boat on the ceiling, carved stone piece and carved turtle artwork on a 3D waved wall, behind the bar. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a full bar, that also services the pool areas. Our server Sharmie, was friendly and attentive. The first evening, my husband ordered the Hawaiian bbq sauced ribs dinner, he substituted the sides, for a Cesar salad, healthy option, to be offset by a big swell Maui IPA beer. I started with a lava flow pina colada w/strawberry puree I ordered the pacific grill, tender white fish, shrimp n soft scallops, floating in a creamy white wine sauce reduction, accompanied by mashed potatoes and steamed mixed vegetables. On our second visit, we enjoyed the Thursday evening prime rib special. Our second server Pam, was also friendly, attentive n conversational, as she was from our California hometown, of Venice, Santa Monica areas. My husband n I both got the 9oz prime rib, which as more than enough. I must say, we do a lot of prime rib specials on the mainland, by far this was best we've ever had. Very tender, well cooked n minimal fat. My husband again, opted to swap his sides for a salad, as I stayed w/the mashed potatoes and steamed mixed vegetables. We also had the calamari strips appetizer. He enjoyed his Maui IPA n I had the iced tea, which tasted freshly brewed, did not have that chemical bottled taste. The food is delicious and only out done my the beautiful entertainment, of Jeffrey playing island favorites, also singing happy birthday and happy anniversary, on his wonderful guitar and his entertainment partner Kealani. The beautiful Kealani, wore a long Hawaiian flower dress, accented by a massive garland of numerous strands of fresh water pearls, a large flower and greenery head piece, looking like a Hawaiian Queen. Her Hula dancing storytelling was fabulous. Their entertainment greatly enhanced our dining experience and made it a magical evening, overlooking the ocean and island views, with the ocean waves gently crashing in the background. I highly recommend this dining experience. 5...
