I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but this experience really left me frustrated.
The food truck park itself is lovely, and the truck we visited looked very nice. My husband and I ordered Tom Kha, Tom Yum, and fried spring rolls. The rolls were fine, but the dipping sauce wasn’t great. The soups, however, were just… unrecognizable.
If you’ve ever had real Tom Yum, you know what I mean — this wasn’t even close. The broth was a sour-style version, which not everyone likes, but beyond that, it was absolutely unlike any Tom Yum I’ve had before. It was full of carrots — and honestly, why would carrots even go in Tom Yum? My soup also had broccoli and cabbage???why?
I went to ask the lady working there why the menu didn’t mention broccoli and cabbage, and why they were in my soup. She told me that because I ordered chicken Tom Yum, it comes that way. That made no sense — it’s still nothing like the classic dish.
As for the Tom Kha with shrimp, it also had broccoli, cabbage, and carrots. It’s beyond me why anyone would ruin classic Thai dishes with these unnecessary additions. When I said this didn’t resemble authentic Tom Yum at all, her response was, “Well, we’re not in Thailand.”
Trust me, I know we’re not in Thailand — but I also don’t expect to pay $21 for Tom Kha, $19 for Tom Yum (plus extra for rice) at restaurant-level prices , only to be served a strange vegetable stew. If this is the way you make it, at least write in the menu that your Tom Yum is a heavily modified version with carrots, broccoli, and cabbage, so customers know what they’re getting.
Please, don’t ruin good Thai dishes with unnecessary...
Read moreThis is a review of this food truck parking lot. I actually did not eat the Thai food by Siri but my wife actually purchased their food and loved it. She said the pad Thai was delicious in some of the best she's ever had she raved about it.
I actually ordered the Greek gyro which was from the truck next door And it was really good as well. I would say for the most part food seemed fairly reasonable. There were a few trucks that seemed kind of expensive but overall a good selection of food I would say if you want to take a family there you probably have a few options all in one location.
So my wife and I tried the Thai food and I ordered the Greek and we thought they were both great.
It was showering a bit while we were there which made it difficult to eat and by the time we finished we had to run away because there was no umbrellas of any kind or any shelter to avoid getting soaking wet in the rain. There were a lot of picnic tables around to sit at though.
Good place to go get a variety of food and have some...
Read more5 stars food and 5 stars service. I asked the Beef and Broccoli to be as spicy as they could, and wow, so spicy I loved it so much!! It's the worst when I go to Thai food and I ask for it spicy and they wimp it down (probably because I look pretty white?). We also ordered the red curry with pineapple (special for the day) and it was very good. The drunken noodle with chicken was also pretty good (though my wife ordered it so it was mild...so not as good as the broccoli beef I ordered 😉). The only reason it gets 4 stars for atmosphere is because it is in a gravel parking lot facing a...
