Ordered Smash burger. Double meat. Thin meat. No lettuce or tomato unless you pay $3 more. Think it was $14. I expect d a good burger for that price. They have No regular mustard. No have no ketchup for the fries. I asked to substitute the American cheese for the white cheddar they offer on another menu item. At first the chef said no but then he heard me grumble and gave in but made Me feel like crap for asking. You tip before you get your meal, when you order. I always do at least 20%. The service you get is they bring your food to the table. That’s it. If you want water, I guess you order that at the bar. Plastic cheap brittle straws. It fell apart into 30 or more pieces. Wish I had taken a photo. I was shocked. My guests straws were fine. Guest ordered the Quiche. One bite I tried and it was delicious until my guest got to The middle, not cooked. Took video but this site does not allow videos to show the way undercooked middle. I’m talking runny. Can’t order tater tot’s for lunch but it’s on their menu. Can only order during happy hour. They are frozen, but they can’t make them for you. You order up front. Pay. Cannot order your drinks at the same time. Have to go to the bar. My cokes were Fine and the female bartender was great. Me nor my other 2 guests will ever go back and will not recommend. Another guest at a different table Appeared to have a huge burger. I wanted to ask what she ordered. I wanted to take a photo of hers for comparison but I couldn’t do that to someone. Very small parking lot.

So I’ve been here 3 times in the past 7 days. Yes, it is a new space and yes, it is convenient to me but the dog-friendliness, drinks, vibe, food and ease of parking have solidified it as a go-to for me and my friends. On my first visit here, I introduced 2 of my friends to grits by ordering the shrimp and grits and I will tell you, it’s worth a visit just for this meal. I’m from the south and grits was a staple of my upbringing and a resident on my make-at-home menu and this is <insert chef’s kiss>! Some more favorites are the garlic fries and the wings. I haven’t ordered any drink other than the frosted ruby. I’ve brought my dog two of the three times and it’s so easy. And whether you want a quieter table with some space, relax in a lounge setting or be in the mix with the bar scene, you can have ALL of those things here. I wasn’t tempted to 4-star this review due to the fact that cocktails are served but one must order food from a counter. As confusing as it was my first visit, the “food employees” (like expediter) come around often and are attentive to things like providing silverware, asking if you want more sauce, clearing dishes, etc., it became second nature. My one hope is that they make food orderable from the table. That would be <chef’s kiss> for me. Finally I am providing one photo that I took the time to take. I’ll just leave that here…

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Parlay, the new dog-friendly restaurant and bar in the heart of Wailuku, and I'm thrilled to share my experience! I remember eyeing this location a couple of years back for a potential cat café, and I'm glad to see it transformed into such a vibrant space. The atmosphere is fantastic! The outdoor seating area feels airy and refreshing, making it the perfect spot to unwind. While the music inside can be a bit loud, the outdoor sound system is impressive and creates a lovely ambiance. Worried about boredom? Fear not! They offer games to keep you entertained while waiting for your food. I noticed everyone having a great time, especially dog owners who can enjoy a lovely night out without leaving their furry friends home alone. The self-ordering system is super convenient, although I found the menu a bit tricky to read. But wow, I was pleasantly surprised by the food! The seared pan fish with salad was exquisite, and the dish featuring arugula was a delightful surprise. Street parking or garage parking are available. Overall, Parlay is a wonderful addition to Wailuku's dining scene. It's fantastic to have another option for a night out, especially for pet lovers! Congratulations to the team on this beautiful opening—I can't wait to come back! 🐾🥳

Service is really lacking all around and the do it yourself ordering from the bar counter is lame and confusing. You realize quickly this is not a full service restaurant. Anyways, we ordered from the very forgetful bartender. Only 3 menu items for breakfast...how hard can it be. Biscuits and gravy served on a small plate, breakfast sandwich and saimin. Also, there are three sides as an add on, bacon (2 piece) sausage (one patty) or a small portion of tots. After ordering one of each including sides and three adult beverages, the bartender came over to our table after we seated ourselves and asked what I ordered again as she forgot.. Then she asked if I ordered a breakfast burrito...which is not on their menu so that was confusing.

If they offered it I probably would have ordered it though because it was slim pickings. Eventually some food started to come which was actually good but no drinks that I ordered. I asked the bartender lady and she forgot those as well but they eventually came well after the food.

For like 5-8 people in the place it seems they are not ready to handle a busy day.

The bar top table was too small for 4 people to eat comfortably but there was a ton of outdoor space with only a couple tables (none available). Maybe they just didn't put all the tables out...or maybe it was the bartenders job and she forgot again lol. Who knows, feeling confused is the theme here unfortunately.

We live in Wailuku heights and are the exact target market for a place like this... We love to support local business, enjoy eating out and live close by. These guys need to get it together.

It's a neat spot and exactly what Wailuku needs more of...cafes, local businesses and really anything that is not a ghetto pawn shop or hostel. I hope they change the way they offer service to patrons and ensure more tables and service. They should take orders at your table so it feels more like it's a restaurant..the food is good enough but portions were a little light and breakfast was not cohesive but tasty. The biscuits and gravy should be a side with a plate that size, not an entree. Will come back again to see if they are interested in improving. I want them to succeed..we watched them build out this place for what seemed like years...I would assume they are interested in making their investment back? Luckily we like spending money and tipping well but demand decent service.

Also, never let customers spending well over $100 walk out without a staff member saying thanks or bye to them like us. Acting like you care also helps and makes you want to come back.

There is potential but...
