I had an 8oz steak med/rare on Friday and sides of mamposteao and broccoli, which other than the steak, the sides were good. However the steak was the worse steak I ever ate. So chewy it was ridiculous and it was very bloody pink and arteries present in the meat. So obviously Applebee's doesn't know how to purchase steaks for their customers. I've never ever been impressed by Applebee's food and once again they reaffirmed this feeling I have.. I got these results from the Internet after asking if it was supposed to be extremely chewy. Here are the results:
No, an 8oz sirloin steak cooked medium rare should not be extremely chewy; if prepared properly, it should be tender and juicy with a slightly pink center, not tough or chewy at all.
Why a sirloin might be chewy:
Overcooking:
The biggest culprit for a chewy steak is overcooking, so ensure you cook it to the correct temperature for medium rare (around 130-135°F).
Poor cut selection:
While sirloin can be a good cut for medium rare, some parts of the sirloin can be tougher than others.
Not resting the steak:
Failing to rest the steak after cooking can lead to juices escaping, making it less tender.
To ensure a tender medium-rare sirloin:
Use a meat thermometer: This is the most accurate way to ensure you don't overcook your steak.
Marinate the meat: Marinating can help break down muscle fibers and add flavor.
Slice against the grain: When serving, slice your steak against the grain to make it...

As a diehard Applebee's fan and someone who has had the pleasure of working at multiple Applebee’s locations in Michigan and Georgia, I’ve always found comfort in the consistency of the menu and the great specials. After relocating to Puerto Rico, I was excited to experience the same Applebee’s favorites that I’ve come to love over the years. However, I was disappointed to discover that one of my all-time favorite items – Boneless Wings – is not even offered here.
It’s frustrating because Boneless Wings are a staple on the menu across Applebee's locations in the U.S., and they’re even advertised on the Puerto Rico website. I’ve always enjoyed these as a go-to snack or meal, especially when paired with one of Applebee's famous drink specials. It’s a shame to see that the drink specials and Boneless Wings, which I know are crowd favorites, aren't available here like they are in the states.
It would be fantastic to see the Puerto Rico locations align more with their counterparts in the U.S., offering these classics along with the great drink specials Applebee’s is known for. Bringing these options back would definitely elevate the experience for both loyal fans like myself and new customers alike!

Read moreI had a great experience at Applebee’s recently, and it definitely deserves some praise. I ordered the fajita quesadilla, and it was absolutely delicious. The tortilla was perfectly toasted with a nice crisp on the outside, and the filling had just the right balance of seasoned chicken, peppers, onions, and melted cheese. Each bite was flavorful and satisfying, and the portion was more than enough to leave me full.
My girlfriend had the quesadilla burger, and she loved it. It’s such a creative twist combining the best parts of a burger with the flavor-packed quesadilla style. The burger patty was juicy, the cheese was melted to perfection, and the whole thing had just the right kick. She couldn’t stop talking about how good it was.
On top of the great food, the service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. We didn’t have to wait long for our food, and everything came out fresh and hot.
Overall, Applebee’s really impressed us. The food was flavorful, well-cooked, and satisfying, and the staff made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back for another...
