I had a meal in here this evening. Two pandhandlers came into the store selling trinkets. They asked the four young people working behind the counter if they wanted to buy any of the trinkets then after being told no they went to each customer in the restaurant trying to sell their goods. All the staff watched them continue going table to table. After my meal I asked for the manager and was told three of them were managers. I suggested they not allow panhandlers to go up to each customer in their restaurant trying to eat, without being asked to leave. Two of the boys said they told them no but could not do anything else. Appreciating they were all young, I told them as managers they have the authority to tell people to leave if they want and suggested when they saw them continue bothering customers they should again ask them to leave. One of the young men became a little indignant saying he doesn’t need me giving him advice and that he can’t just push them out of the store. I shared with him I was a police officer for 30 years and am aware of what they can and can’t do and I was just trying to help them.
Just an fyi, they may need a little more training. Thank you....
Read moreFirst time to the five guys in the RGV. Ordered online yet wait time was still pretty ridiculous. Burgers were really good. I won't let the rest of my experience take away from that. However the fries were extremely soggy. Soggy to the level of disgust. The Cajun seasoning on the fries seemed really "off" as well compared to other 5 guys restaurants I've been to. The milkshakes seemed to be the longest part of the wait. Unfortunately there was a lack of communication between two of the workers causing confusion. It was frustrating standing there with my food in hand for what seemed like forever watching two guys trying to get on the same page about a couple of milkshakes. At the end of the day, burgers were good, the fries were trash and the milkshakes were just okay. Nothing to write home about. $65 dollars for a meal for two is extremely over priced considering the quality I received and all of the other options for burgers and shakes in the area. Save your time and your money. You really aren't missing out on anything by going to whataburger over this place. Your wallet...
Read moreJUST DON'T... I've never paid so much for a burger, fries and a coke! ($18.98 for just me) And you know what? I'll never ever do it again. It was absolutely nothing special. Freddy's, hands down, makes a much better burger!!! Five Guys' burger patty had zero flavor and it was a very sloppy burger with a soggy bun. I literally had to use 6 napkins. The entire interior is plastered with signage, newspaper and magazine articles telling you how amazing Five Guys is, and how this place and that, rated it their #1 'go to' for burgers and fries. Well, all I can say is, if you have to tell me a 100 times to try to convince me how awesome you are... Then you're probably not. Your overpriced food spoke for itself. Service can vary from location to location, but this location's service was not courteous. It was rude either, just barely civil. For clarification: Burger $9.95, small fries $4.95, and coke $2.95. I was astonished at the pricing before I ordered, but assumed it must be awesome... Sadly, I wasted my money. Don't waste yours, go...
