I was so looking forward to visiting this place and enjoying the tacos. Sadly, I was highly underwhelmed with my visit. In fact, I was gravely disappointed in the service my friend and I received.
The Good: The establishment is a cute & quant place in the McDonough square. The menu looks exciting and there’s something for everyone.
The Bad: I’ll skip this part and go straight to the ugly.
The Ugly: We placed our order at 12:00p and sat at a table awaiting the staff to bring our food for dine-in service. At 12:20p, we noticed 3 groups of people had come in, ordered, sat down, and received their food. Yet….we hadn’t received ours. I asked the staff for an update on our order and she mentioned our ticket was up next. (How was it “next” if we ordered BEFORE the other 3 groups arrived??). By 12:45p, 2 more dine-in groups and 3 to-go orders had come in, ordered, got seated, and received their food. Still….no food for us. By now, we’re ready for a refund and ready to go. After telling the staff we’ve been waiting for 45 minutes and watching them CONSTANTLY service others and continue to ignore us, we want a refund. At no time was an apology or explanation offered. So you leave me no choice but to state the facts and draw my own conclusion for reasoning. ALL other patrons looked to be white/Caucasian. The staff looked to be white/Caucasian. My friend and myself are black/African American. So, I guess they didn’t feel like servicing black people today in this restaurant. I’m highly disappointed that I even had to write about such disgusting service/behavior related to this place because we really wanted to support the small business. But we don’t and won’t support poor service….especially that which appears to be...
Read moreThis is my fourth time eating here, but my first review the first few times that I’ve been to this establishment I had a good experience. Based on the first three experiences, I would rate it 6 out of 10. However, my most recent experience was bad enough for me to not return. The service was excellent. The young gentleman who took my order was courteous, kind, and professional. The manager, I’m assuming, was also very polite and respectful. I have zero qualms about their service towards me.
It’s just the tacos were made by child, and I could tell. It almost felt insulting. I’ve tried different things on the menu. And nothing was hitting the mark today.
The food was cold. The meat was very chewy. The recipe lacked seasoning The food was prepared sloppily. The food didn’t taste fresh.
If you absolutely hate Taco Bell and you’re just in the mood for American style tacos go here. But if that’s the case, I will tell you to make the tacos at home cause you’ll probably like those better than paying for a $5 per taco that is messy and not fresh.
Maybe it was an off day. I will not be back to figure it out.
It was very empty in there to be a weekend
some feedback: have some better music playing Get some more lively people behind the counter Hiring an experienced chef to manage the kitchen.
The whole Dairy Queen approach is not a good idea in my humble opinion.
The store was very clean and so was the bathroom...
Read moreSo much potential from this little spot. After working in high volume restaurants throughout my youth, it was easy to spot what was going wrong on my visit... Zero leadership. I ordered my food from the very attentive, curly haired young lady at the register. She helped me with the menu and options. After ordering is when it went downhill... I literally waited 28min before getting up and asking for my food. There was one order in front of mine. While waiting, the small establishment filled up, "lunch rush..." It's typical for a kitchen to get crashed in certain hours of the day, but there has to be a plan on how to deal with such volume. A couple of moments after asking for my food I was brought out a plastic basket, which based on the temperature of the basket and food, was dead. My food had either been sitting in a window with no attention or under a heat lamp.. Either way, $12 worth of inedible food.. It could've easily had been fixed by the dude who I asked to get my food, but for what? He didn't care. The kitchen didn't care or the food wouldn't have died in the window... Oh well, lesson learned. Downtown McDonough isn't quite ready for...
