My boyfriend loved the garlic bread but it looked like hamburger rolls with a lot of minced garlic and melted butter. The crab cakes seemed more to be deep fried and placed on a plate of sauce m, paired with chilled veggies, and didn’t seem pan fried. I LOVE crab cakes so I was little sad. The minestrone soup was ok. I didn’t like it but I think someone else would love it! The La Caprese was my favorite. I would’ve loved it if they were Roma tomatoes, they had huge tomato slices you’d expect for burgers, Portion was great for 2 ppl. I enjoyed the vinaigrette used for the La Caprese as well. Boyfriend ordered the ravioli which was stuffed, he liked it but thought it was a bit much. I tried it and rather enjoyed the sauce more than my entree’s sauce. I had the black pepper chicken papardelle which to me had no flavor other than cream. Granted, it’s a cream sauce and I think it s supposed to be flavored by the black pepper chicken. I wasn’t a fan of the noodle texture and I think my chicken was slightly over cooked and a bit dry. I ended up taking it home as is and fixing the sauce to my preference (which is not the fault of the restaurant’s, I’m sure that’s how it’s supposed to be made) Wait staff was fine and the overall ambience was great our server was sweet! I would only come back if I was invited out for lunch but...
Read moreThis was our first & our last visit here. The garlic bread looked & tasted like slider buns. They were delivered swimming in a bowl of butter or oil that included a huge amount of nearly raw garlic. Our salads arrived before the eggplant appetizer, which ended up being 3 tiny, over breaded & greasy pieces of eggplant beside a huge pile of oily wilted greens. After a long wait our dinners arrived less than luke warm. My husband's lasagne looked like a pile of mush served very sloppily on the plate. We told the server about the food being served at an improper temperature. She took it back to the kitchen, and after another long wait, brought the same plates back to us no warmer than they were the first time. We asked why we could not be served steaming hot plates like others had received at a table near us. Her response was a very nonchalant, "I don't know." At that response we told her we would not be eating hot food served at an improper temperature. She said fine and that she did not want us to pay if we did not like it. Disappointed as we had heard such good things about this place. One star for the crisp lettuce...
Read moreWe were from out of town and looked for a local Italian place instead of a chain. The sign said "seat yourself", which we did, but it took 15 minutes for a waitress to even acknowledge we were there. They weren't that busy. We almost left. We ordered the pecan chicken, ravioli and fettuccini alfredo. Both pasta dishes were sent back. The ravioli was hard and crunchy, the alfredo sauce had zero taste. We were so disappointed since this place was known for their pasta. The pecan chicken however was delicious!!! The garlic rolls were also out of this world good! The ravioli dish was replaced with spaghetti, which was good. Not sure if they were having an off night. They did make it right by allowing us to order something else and adjusting the bill. Service was good, once they knew we were there. It was a charming place in a cute neighborhood with an intimate atmosphere. We would recommend music though. It was oddly quiet. Soft Italian music would have really set the mood! I would definitely give a second shot next time...
