China Town — Restaurant in McHenry

Employees were rude, not helpful and to busy gossiping to help customers. Place had a funny smell. Food was disgusting. Who loads up a Kung Pao Chicken with big chunks of celery and carrots?? Broccoli in garlic sauce should be that, not a whole bunch of other vegetables in it. The Sesame Shrimp and the General Tao Shrimp was 90% grease and breading and 10% shrimp!! The wonton soup had a thick layer of yellow grease on the top of it. The "fried rice" was bright yellow, no vegetables, just yellow rice!! Laden in lots of grease and tumeric. If I wanted indian food, that's what I would of ordered. The Worst Chinese food I have ever had. Ordered ahead and was told it would be an hour and a half wait for pickup because they were so busy. We waited, got there at designated time and the place was a ghost town. The employees pretty much ignored us. We had to filter through the pickup orders ourselves to find ours. The food was completely inedible. The fortune cookies were either empty (no fortune) or had a Duo Lingo Ad. Pathetic. If you are looking for good Chinese in McHenry or surrounding areas, Lakemoor, DO NOT GO TO CHINATOWN!! Overpriced Greasy Tumeric Laden Food!!! Utterly Unbelievable that they are still in business. We used to order here about 7 years ago. Moved back to the area and ordered last night for delivery. First, the food got here insanely fast. 20 min or so. BUT it was cold when it arrived.

I remember this wasn’t my favorite place before, but it wasn’t bad. Last night- was just bad. We had a large order and I’ll break it down below:

Shrimp toast was fine. Just arrived cold. Shrimp fried rice- was not fried at all. It was yellow. There were no vegetables and no egg, just yellow rice and shrimp. Shrimp Chow Mei Fun: was noodles and shrimp with a few veggies. Zero sauce. Dry and sticky. No flavor of any kind to be had. Kung pao chicken was mostly breading and tiny little pieces of chicken under so much breading. Sauce was good, but we asked for spicy. It was not even close. Shrimp Egg foo young- Patties were very thin, flat, and dry. Tasted old. Could not eat more than a couple of bites. Sauce was served separately and was coagulated, again, cold. Egg rolls were gross. Slimy inside.

Again, we weren’t expecting Michelin rated quality here, but when Panda Express is a safer option,...

Vary Disapointed!!! ordered The bo bo plater and sesame chicken egg rolls tasted and smelled like they were made in old oil and they were chewy not crisp. pork no taste and under cooked. the breaded chicken breading was soft and not crisp tastless. the rangoon was like cardboard and had No taste overcooked. The sesame chicken also no taste and chewy.

was Vary disapointed!!! this location has gotten worse every year for the past 5 years. up untill five yeas ago (or so) I would order food from this location at least three or four times a month and they always had Great food and always vary busy. Now I will try the food from this location once a year and each time is worse then the year before... I am now done going to China City in McHenry.
