Was in Allen visiting family for Christmas and came to Bob's for a fine-dining family dinner for ten of us. The entire waitstaff was outstanding, from the bartenders who took care of those of us who arrived a bit early, to everyone who served us during dinner. However, I specifically have to call out Dimitri who was absolutely outstanding, not only with dealing with "herding the cats" of a ten person dinner, but making sure everyone received a dish to their liking, pairing wines with our meals, and just being a joy to interact with, but doing it with skill as to not be overbearing whatsoever. He also happened to look like the actor Faizon Love, from Elf, which happens to be a family favorite, so we had some fun with Dimitri on that topic. Next time my wife and I get to Allen, we will make a point of going to this location again, and we will specifically request Dimitri for our visit. I was unaware that this location also has a cigar bar, which will be something to check out on our next visit. I highly recommend this restaurant. My personal opinion is that you should be dressed appropriately for this restaurant in "smart business attire" (NOT COVID business attire), men will feel most comfortable with a sport coat or blazer. This is a fine-dining establishment. One note, the photo attached is meant to be funny, but the smallest filet you can get here is a 9oz, and it is AWESOME! Thank you Dimitri and all the staff for a wonderful family dinner!

A Perfect Date Night Experience Last night, we had the pleasure of dining at Bob's Steakhouse, and it was nothing short of perfection. We made a same-day reservation through OpenTable, and upon our arrival, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our evening was made even more delightful by our waiter, Donald, who was amazing, friendly, and very attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was enjoyable, providing a perfect backdrop for our date night. We started with the Paper Plane cocktail, which was both strong and delicious. For appetizers, we had the crab cakes. They were delectable, with lumps of crab that allowed the flavor to truly shine. For our main courses, we ordered the scallop entrĆ©e and the shrimp scampi. The scallops were the most delicious I’ve ever eaten—large, cooked to perfection, and accompanied by a creamy sauce that complemented them beautifully. The shrimp scampi was equally outstanding, with the shrimp cooked just right and the overall dish bursting with flavor. To conclude our meal, we indulged in the crĆØme brĆ»lĆ©e. It was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had. The custard was decadently rich, making for a perfect end to an already amazing dinner. Overall, our experience at Bob's Steak & Chop House was outstanding. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out.

I love Bob's and have been to 6 locations in Texas. Tonight, the McKinney location made us feel unwelcome. It's disappointing because the food & service are great. Sometimes, it's better than our go-to Plano location. The hostess informed us we were dressed too causal. We could eat, but wanted us to know for next time. She specifically said my husband should be in a collared shirt. Back story. We decided to grab dinner after our sons high school football game. So we were in nice shoes, nice jeans & football T-shirts. I understand a dress code. But Thursday night, less than 25 people, maybe 10 tables seated. I understand different owners, but how do you expect people to go to different locations and understand different dress codes. After walking out the door, I went back inside. The manager came outside with me by the sign(see picture) to discuss. It's sad because we will not be back. I love nice restaurants, and I love dressing up. But when did this industry become too good to take $. šŸ¤” Outside of the normal things restricted by most: tank top, flip flops, or shorts. I'm talking about nice jeans vs. no jeans and t-shirts vs. collared shirts. What do you think about the topic of dress codes?

When visiting upscale places like this one, you would expect a higher level of professionalism and work ethic but most importantly respect for customers. Specially when I have chosen to celebrate my birthday at Bob’s for the last 5 years. I have always had a great experience at the Plano location. However, once I found out about a location opening in Mckinney (closer to home) I was extremely excited. The experience was way below expectations to the say least but to make things worse the way that GM Dan manages the situation is horrendous! Dan takes no self accountability for his mistakes. I had requested to speak to him twice. First time I called, was back in January right after my Birthday. I never heard back from him. Second time he finally called me back and offered a giftcard for the full amount that was spent. However, I told him that wouldn’t work. I told him I would prefer a full refund. He said he would look into it and give me a call back. We had a pretty normal A and B conversation and I expected to hear back. Never heard back from him until a couple days ago and that’s only because I called requesting to speak to him again! When he gets on the phone with me, he is so quick to say that our previous conversation ended in me insulting him which I can assure, this was never the case! I told him I was expecting a call back from him with a different resolution or even if he couldn’t do anything else, I still expected a call. Come to think about it, Dan decided to make things up to take no accountability for not calling me back. Keep in mind it’s already been 4 months since my first out reach. Also, Dan decided to turn the conversation into a debate instead of maintaining composure by refusing to admit his mistake. Also while communicating, he refers to a giftcard as a refund and then gets upset when I told him, okay I’ll take my refund and then he says ā€œI didn’t say thatā€ I said giftcard after he had clearly said refund. Then I agree to accepting a giftcard and he says okay but I’m not giving you the full amount that you spent on that night. Problem here is, he is not keeping his word and to avoid making this review any longer and boring. Moral of the story, if you plan on coming here. My best wishes to you is to have the best experience ever or else expect to deal with a very argumentative GM. You do a horrendous job at managing bad situations Dan. Work on...

A Stellar Dining Experience at Bob's Steakhouse in McKinney, TX

We dined here in December 2023, and I must say it was an outstanding experience that left a lasting impression on me. From the moment we walked through the door to the last bite of our delicious meal, every aspect of our visit was exceptional.

Firstly, the ambiance at Bob's is warm and inviting. The classic steakhouse atmosphere, coupled with subtle contemporary touches, creates the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. The attention to detail in the dƩcor sets the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. Our waiter, Jay, truly elevated our dining experience. From the moment he greeted us with a friendly smile, it was evident that we were in good hands. Jay's knowledge of the menu was impressive, and he offered insightful recommendations that perfectly suited our preferences. His passion for the culinary creations at Bob's was contagious, making us even more excited to dive into the menu.

Speaking of the menu, the selection at Bob's is a carnivore's dream. The steaks were phenomenal – cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The attention to quality and the expert craftsmanship in preparing each dish were evident in every bite. The sides were equally impressive; the loaded baked potato was a showstopper.

Jay's impeccable service continued throughout the evening. He was attentive without intruding, ensuring our glasses were never empty and checking in on us at just the right moments. His genuine enthusiasm for making our dining experience special did not go unnoticed, and it truly added to the overall enjoyment of our meal.

The dessert menu was the perfect finale to an already fantastic evening. Jay recommended the signature chocolate cake, and it was the ideal sweet note to end our meal. Rich, indulgent, and beautifully presented – a dessert lover's dream.

In summary, our dining experience at Bob's Steakhouse in McKinney, TX, was exceptional, thanks in no small part to our outstanding waiter, Jay. Combining a welcoming atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and top-notch service makes Bob's a standout dining destination. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and the certainty that we'd be returning to Bob's for another memorable meal. If you're looking for an exceptional steakhouse experience in McKinney, look no further than Bob's – and be sure to...

First time disappointed at Bob's.

Since the first time I dined at (Lemmon) Bob's 20 or so years ago, it has been my favorite restaurant. I have had many dinners at multiple locations, and all of them before now have been excellent.

My wife and I visited the McKinney location on 12/30 to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first visit to this location.

The first disappointment was to see a significant increase in pricing. Inflation impacts everybody, so I get it to some extent, but it seemed excessive. Perhaps pricing is higher at this location than others.

Our server was friendly and attentive, but did not understand when I requested my steak Pittsburgh (medium rare, heavy char). Not a big deal, but has never been an issue the 15-20 times I have made the same order at other locations.

For the first time ever, the steak was a huge letdown. It was cooked unevenly and didn't seem up to par with what I'm used to. I considered sending it back, but decided against it so my wife wouldn't have to choose between starting without me or letting her food get cold. I know Pittsburgh might be a bit tricky, but it has been perfect every other time. For $75, I don't think it's a big ask.

When our food was delivered, my wife requested a glass of wine to enjoy with her sea bass. This was not with our server, but we ended up having to flag him down to re-request it about halfway through the meal.

Bob's used to be an exceptional experience at a fantastic value. It's still really good, but to me it is no...
