Me and my family was visiting Cava today for Dinner and let me say it was a BIG SHOW DOWN! between a big dude, a female and a skinny dude. I feel very sorry for the smaller young man and that female worker that made ours bowls because not only did they make our food perfectly but I can tell under the pressure from the stressful situation that they were still trying so I appreciate and I recognized them for that. But that place has some bad people in charge! Because I saw the whole thing happen while waiting in line. As to me, it didn’t seem like anything of too much serious. I just noticed how the manager was going back-and-forth with the young man that was working on the line serving many bowls before us. It seemed that he was helping another customer when the manager started Redirecting Aggressively About something being asked for or something not being asked for. To me whole situation was totally Inappropriate and uncalled for. By the time it got to me and my family to place or orders and check out. The manager had called the young man that was working the line to step in the back to an office. The young man replied OK can I finish helping these customers and the Manager Jeremiah was yelling come in the office hurry now. I was in such disbelief that I thought I was watching a reality TV show tonight. I believe the manager for the shift tonight name was (Jeremiah). He constantly kept yelling in front of my family at the two team members that were working the line. To the point that my husband had to approach the situation to tell the manager to let the employees serve and make our food so that we could also Leave the toxic environment. The manager were making aggressive comments like Bet That and Your going to get that. I don’t know where that manager is from, but from where I’m from those are fight me words. The whole situation was just chaotic with passive aggression and threats being thrown out from the manager to the towards the employees that were working. While still waiting for our food to be made, the manager had told the young man to clock out and go home because he didn’t stop finishing our bowls to go in the office, mind you it’s a line full of customer and one female on the line. Once the female had spoke up and said, we need to get the customer order is completed first, The manager told her to shut up talking to him!!!! And started yelling to the individuals that he wanted the young man to get off his clock. Repeatedly saying to leave his store. I don’t know why people think they are bigger than the program, but that was totally inappropriate tonight. The manager yelling get out of my store was insane to me because I don’t think he’s paying all those store bills by himself. I feel bad for those two employees. I hope everything work out! if they didn’t make my family food, I would’ve asked for a full refund, but The manager offered a free meal Due to the hostile environment that he caused at the time, so it did even matter to ask for a refund. People like that really need to be...
Read moreEDIT: Since I wrote this review, my office has ordered from this location almost weekly, and there hasn’t been but a handful of times that they’ve gotten our order correct. I’m currently sitting here eating a bowl that I ordered harissa on, which I do every time, and there’s not one bit in it. Sometimes it’s sauce, sometimes it’s other ingredients. Maybe it’s just careless employees, but it’s inexcusable and frustrating. I’m not sure why my coworkers continue to order from here after the number of times it’s just been wrong.
I see some the one star reviews, and I understand how a bad experience might make people upset or even angry, but the complaints these other people have had have not been a part of my experience. That’s not to minimize legitimate complaints, but my experience has been much different. I’ve been inside this store twice, and both times, the facility was immaculate, the service was excellent, and the food was amazing. My brief interactions with the manager have been excellent and professional, and he really seems like he’s trying to build a culture of growth and excellence. If they’ve made mistakes in the past, I’m confident that they are learning from those mistakes and working to make this restaurant a place of excellence.
Also, my office orders lunch for the employees from this store every week at least once, which isn’t a lot because we’re a tiny company, but every time we order, our experience is just as good.
If you’ve had a bad experience, please return and give them another chance, and I would encourage you to respectfully provide face to face feedback because I know they’ll hear you and take you seriously. I love this place and want to see it and the people who work there be successful.
If you’ve never been here, give it a try! Lots of variety and they accommodate all kinds of dietary needs. My family is vegan, and we always leave with full bellies and smiles...
Read moreOur office staff often dines at the CAVA McKinney location (380 & Hardin), and we always have a wonderful experience—today was no exception, thanks largely to Kayla Kennedy. From the moment I walked in, she was attentive, courteous, and genuinely welcoming.
This past Sunday (09/21/25), after church, I was pleasantly surprised to see Kayla at the Legacy West location. She greeted me with the same big smile and polite demeanor we’ve come to appreciate. I even asked about the change in location—half-jokingly pleading with her not to leave McKinney, which has become our go-to spot thanks to the consistently great service, friendly staff, and well-seasoned food. She assured me we’d see her again soon!
It’s rare to find service that feels both efficient and sincerely genuine. Kayla strikes the perfect balance between professional and personable. Be sure to look for her—you’ll appreciate her attentiveness, friendly attitude, and warm welcome.
Why We Keep Coming Back to McKinney CAVA: Great food, always fresh and flavorful, Friendly, professional staff, Healthy eating, Clean dining environment, Fast, courteous service—even during busy times
Other CAVA Locations – Honest Comparisons:
Legacy West – Beautiful location and convenient, but lacks the warm, welcoming team energy that McKinney delivers consistently. You’d expect more hospitality here.
Preston Rd, Frisco – Unfortunately, service is lacking, and the environment isn’t as clean—even during slower hours.
Main Street, Frisco – Always out of something (pita chips, proteins, beans, etc.), and the fountain drinks/teas never taste quite right.
Lafayette, LA (Hometown) – Sadly, the worst experience I’ve had at any CAVA. Poor service and not up to...
